Face masks – All you need to know

When I asked in my recent videos which topic you would want to hear more about, sheet masks were highly requested.

But as sheet masks on their own are not that big of a topic, I decided to film a video about face masks in general, with a special emphasis on sheet masks.

Oh, and with bloopers.

Face masks - All you need to know

Don´t forget to watch the video on You Tube and in HD for the ultimate viewing pleasure.

Products mentioned

Are you a fan of sheet masks?

And do you multi-mask?

  • I don’t know how reliable some of those antiaging masks, however I love the hydrating effect of them. How often do you use masks in the mornings? I always use my masks in the evening, I wonder if it would make any difference.

Bloopers are fun 🙂 I hope unboxing is going good and you’re almost finished!

    • Almost finished? I wished.
I rarely use masks in the morning, mostly because I don´t have the time. But I can imagine putting on something like the 1-minute facial before an important event.

  • I love my ‚Sunday facials‘ 🙂 I’ve not given into the hype of sheet masks yet but it was interesting to hear your opinion on them. From what I’ve read, heard I thought they were soaked in serum, emulsion and therefore superior then the ’normal‘ face masks. x

    • They are not bad if the ingredients are good, but there is no real difference in my opinion to a thickly applied face mask.

  • The picture made me giggle – yes, I have that type of humour too! My knowledge of skincare is very basic, so this was really helpful. I didn’t know about the difference between moisturising and hydrating masks, this is really important and I’m glad I know it now, thanks 🙂

  • I use a variety of facial masks and sometimes even mask twice a day. Lately I’m into splash masks but my favorite type of masks is sheet masks because they seem to do the most for my skin.

  • Sleeping masks probably appeal to me the most as they don’t require a huge amount of time – plus, it can be fun to see how much soften the skin is come the next morning!

  • I never really considered using sheet masks, since I always had regular face masks and it seemed like enough to me:) Sometimes I get fresh masks from Lush, just because I find them fun to use and they really make my skin look better. Thanks so much for sharing and have a great weekend:)
    P. S. I loved your braided hairstyle!:)

    • I love the LUSH face mask as well. Did you know that you could freeze them to save a portion for later?

  • Loved this video. Really full of information! Have a great weekend.

  • I’ve never tried any of these! I’m actually really interested in the Origins one. I’ve tried two of their products in the past, and was pretty impressed. Glam Glow scares me. The price at least. lol I.just.cant. I love concept of sleeping masks, but have yet to find one that totally blows my mind.

  • Haven’t tried sheet maks, but am curious! Usually go with a DIY, but definitely have to be more consistent with my beauty routine haha. Should definitely begin doing it on Sundays and get it as a habit! Xx

    • Do you have DIY recipes you would recommend?

      • I’m more of using specific ingredients then a specific recipe. But do love to mix something of honey, oats, avocado, yoghurt, coffee, olive oil, coconut oil, some lemon drops, strawberry, some cinnamon and also green tea bags! I usually mix 3 ingredients, something moisturizing, something that cleanse, and something with texture. Don’t know if it’s the best way to do it, but instead of just washing the mask of I gently rub it off as if I’d exfoliate. Doing it with coffee smells delicious and is rather gentle on the skin! But would recommend to just mix the ingredients that works best for your skin and the specific areas where you need it! Pinterest have great recipes and so does, ofc, google haha! And if I’m lazy I just apply honey, it’s quick, cheap and does wonders! Xx

  • Another informative video! (And I loved the wandering hand bloopers. lol) I have tried a few masks before, but one I really enjoyed was a Korean rice sheet mask I was gifted. I was amazed at how soft it made my skin after only 15 minutes!

I love masks that can stay all night long, usually hydrating, antiaging or detox ones. I rarely use clay because of my sensitive skin. Lovely video 🙂

  • I have never had much luck with sheet masks, but for some reason normal face masks work very well for me. I do enjoy using clay to help draw the impurities from my skin. Sleeping masks are amazing as well, you wake up with such nice soft skin! Great and informative video, Anne!

    • Sleep masks are amazing for the lazy and the busy person. I´d assume you are one of the busy kind.

  • I love sheet masks, but oddly I haven’t used one in several weeks. Masks are usually the first skincare step I skip when I’m busy, and since starting a new job I haven’t taken the time!

  • Some great tips here, I rarely ever use face masks. I have an oily T-Zone so I think a great one for me would be a clay mask perhaps though of course I would worry it would bring me out in loads of spots.

Really do like Ren, a great brand for sure and always a fan of their gorgeous products.

    • If you use the right one, there is no risk of spots. Spots are usually the result of other ingredients, not the clay.

  • i use clay based masks because those seem to work best on my oily skin. i’ve never multi masked though!

    • There is nothing that can close pores, sorry to tell you. Clay and exfoliation make them appear their best, but the „size“ of them is genetic and depending on the skin type.

      • Yes, I (sadly) knew that, this is why I look for the best products that can minimize them. Thank you for the advice 🙂

  • Great video Anne! I normally just stick to clay and exfoliating masks. I haven’t used too many hydrating masks regularly because I just prefer my using a facial oil or serum instead.

    • Yes, hydrating isn´t my main priority either. It is more a thing I use after a quite stripping exfoliating mask.

  • You’ve got some great tips here. Personally, I use hydrating masks when my skin gets dry and clay masks every other day. On another note, love your hair!

    • Every other day? That is a lot of masking. And thank you, but I´d prefer my hair to stay on my head, no matter how cute the braids look.
