Inspired by Dior Fall 2016

If you are not familiar with the „Inspired by…“ series, click here for an explanation.
But short story even shorter, each month I choose a seasonal ad and try to recreate the models look with colors I already own.
Dressing up and awkward posing included!

And even though we have July and it should be the height of summer, we are here with a fall inspired look. Matte, porcelain skin, dark vampy lips and a resting b*tch face – right up my street.

  • Summer is in full swing down here at the moment, and I don’t even want to think about the fall for at least two more months!

    • Me neither, to be honest, but that is the way the collections roll in. You should be happy that I don’t start talking about Christmas quite yet!

  • Nailed it! Love the way the eyeshadow is subtly winged out. I really like the base, I’m all about the matte finish (even though on me matte always turns dewy eventually). Diva looks really awesome on you, the dark lip suits you.

  • Lovely look! The lashes seem very difficult to recreate, I never know how to to that kind of spider lashes! The lips are absolutely gorgeous, it really makes me want to wear a dark lipstick, even though we are in summer!

    • It isn’t that difficult. Instead of wriggling the wand upwards, just coat your lashes toward each other. Oh, and use a clump-prone mascara, like the Lancôme Grandiose.

  • Fall is my favorite season, and I love fall makeup! Not sure if I could pull off the dark vampy shade, but it sure is fun to try. The best part of makeup!

    • I am not sure if I would leave the house like this, but in the comfort of my own walls (and in front of the camera) I am willing to wear almost everything.

I know this look is supposed to be for Fall but this is basically the look I wear everyday. So I really like this makeup but I guess I’m biased.

  • This has been a go-to fall look for me for years! Yay, I’m hip and on trend. (; Really though, can you ever go wrong with a barely there eye look and vampy lip? (;
    http://www.accordingtokiki.net

    • Of course you are completely on trend, i wouldn´t have expected otherwise! Do you go for a lip that vampy?

      • I tend to stick more toward the berry tones. (;

  • Looks quite easy to recreate! I think the lip would be way too dark for me to wear in real life though. I am not quite ready for fall yet although fall makeup collections are always my favorite!

But I think your top (or is it a dress) is the star of this video! It looks gorgeous whatever it is!

    Agata http://herandmakeup.com

    • It is a top. H&M, a few seasons ago. I only now fit it again, it is lovely!

  • I’m always here for vampy looks, but there is something especially edgy and subversive about rocking such dark and dramatic makeup in the summer. You look fabulous!

    • I am not sure if I could wear something like this out and about. Maybe a little toned down will be an option.

  • I’ll be embracing this look pretty much all winter and fall. I might choose something a little cooler on the eye though.

    • The beauty with this look is that you can easily adapt it to your own skintone.

  • I’m looking forward to watching this – I really enjoyed your last one! xx

    Beautylymin

  • Love the look even though it might feel a bit vampire-ish, quite similar to Gucci Fall 2011 look, but I love it so don’t mind seeing it again! Xx

  • I’m refusing to feel autumn. I love summer! Again, I think you recreated the look quite well 🙂

    -Leta | The Nerdy Me

    • Haha, don’t let me dampen your mood. Summer is still here to stay.

  • Everytime I come across this series title I smile!! Yaay!! Loved the make up! Cool and fresh!!
    Dora http://www.BangsBang.com

    • Fresh? Not what I thought of, but makeup looks different to everyone, I guess.

  • Kay (shoesandglitter)

Loving the bold lipstick on you! It works so well with the minimal eye makeup. It really makes me think of autumn, autumn shades are my fave when it comes to makeup. 🙂 <3 Loving this series so much! x

    • I remember you said that once. I think all in all I prefer the summer colors, but I appreciate the change that comes after a few months of a season.

  • This makeup look would indeed be great for autumn! I love porcelain skin, it looks so pretty and delicate, so this makeup is perfect for you (I wish I had fair skin sometimes haha). You did the lips so well, I love the vampire vibes haha 🙂

  • I’m definitely not ready for fall or fall makeup yet. It’s crazy that half the year is gone already. Summer always means less makeup for me, not like I wear that much to begin with.

    • Haha, me neither I still want to enjoy summer and the summer makeup of a few more weeks, but the collection keep rolling in, so I had to go with the flow.

  • Pilar

This year is going by so fast! I can’t wait to wear more of my vampy lipsticks once Fall is here! The bold lip looks great on you!

  • It looks almost like the model put sugar on her lips! I think you did an excellent job with matching the colours for sure! Hopefully purple lips won’t be the ‚in‘ trend… they can be so difficult to pull off!

    http://www.lindseyginge.com

  • You make it look a lot more wearable than the model I think! I only have the one lipstick shade so probably not the best to comment, but I find the darker lip trend really daunting, and while it’s great in editorials (or fashion shows) I wonder how it would translate to real life. I think you showed it well 🙂

    Away From The Blue Blog

    • I like dark lips in really life, but not as dark. It is like a red, you must be prepared to draw attention, so you probably have to wear it with an attitude.

  • Caliope Couture

This is awesome! I must say I love your „inspired by…“ series. Makeup ads are often so over the top surreal.

    • It is too much to wear outside like this, but a very pretty look when worn toned down.

  • Resting bitch face, almost perfected, haha! Dark lip suits you! Love the combination with very simple eyes. I guess after all the glowing and strobbing we’re going back to matte skin 🙂 x

    Mummy’s Beauty Corner

  • i really enjoyed the video Linda. and i like that you went for matte lips instead of the shimmer effect that the model has going on, i much prefer dark lips to be matte. it’s been raining where I live so it’s all grey skies and dreary weather, so i’m definitely feeling the darker more fall-esque makeup vibe!

    Life as Aditi

    • It is lovely and sunny here, no fall vibes yet, but it will come soon enough. I had no shimmer for my lips, and to be honest, I preferred the matte version as well.

      • i just read your ‚about me‘ page and came back here to apologize *sheepish grin* i find a teeny bit of consolation in the fact that others seem to have made this mistake too x

        • Haha, don’t worry. Linda is a pretty name, and I should have expected being called Linda when I chose my blogname.

  • Dressed With Soul

  • wow yours looks practically identical! You have done such a good job!

    • It is not me, it is the campaigns that are launched so early. I´d have summer a few more months without complaining.

  • You actually kinda look like the girl in the advert. love it!

  • This is lovely !!

    Georgia | The Weekend Attic

  • Right on point! I hadn’t noticed before that the model has eyes of different colors on the promo picture. That’s a very simple look I could easily see myself wearing in the fall – although I prefer your lashes to the model’s spider legs…
But I’m really not feeling fall colors and looks right, summer only started a few weeks ago and I’m not ready to let it go!

    Beaumiroir

    • Her eyes are so pretty! Mine are both the same color, and I didn’t want to invest in contacts just for that look, so… Yes. Just the makeup.
And I love summer and want it to stay a lot longer as well!

  • Nadia

I always enjoy your recreations, Anne! You’re pulling off that lippy shade soooo well! The vampire vibes ref at the end made me smile 🙂 Go you, babe!

    • I guess I am used to it, I grew up in the era of the heroin chic, with Kate Moss before she started eating at least a little. To me models these day look quite healthy. But if I had to stand there and pose for hours, I´d probably be grumpy as well.
