Inspired by … Givenchy La Revelation Originelle Spring 2016

If you are not familiar with the „Inspired by…“ series, click here for an explanation.
But short story even shorter, each month I choose a seasonal ad and try to recreate the models look with colors I already own.
Dressing up and awkward posing included!

Year after year, the spring collections are the most challenging for me to recreate, simply because I don’t feel like pastel colors suit me and I only own a few of them. So when I tried to recreate the Givenchy La Revelation Originelle Spring 2016 look, I had to start mixing!

And here is the finished result…

I didn't own a short sleeved white top that actually fit me...

  • Pastels actually do suit you a lot! I think the only time I used a pastel blue was when I did a look for New Years Eve a couple of years ago, it was very sparkly! 😉
Also, I’m really enjoying your videos! xx

    • I don’t know, I am just not drawn to them, I feel like I look to pale and see-through when wearing them. I guess I am not that kind of ethereal unicorn personality that could feel comfortable in these looks.

And thank you. I do enjoy making them and I promise that they will improve in quality!

  • The pastel eye makeup looks gorgeous on you! I’ve not experimented with pastel eyeshadow much, I tend to wear neutral shades, but maybe I should try them

    • The beauty of this series is that I step out of my comfort zone. My go-to shades are neutrals and bronzes, or a brown smokey eye during winter, but not these colors.

  • I love this look! Who would have thought pale/pastel eyeshadows could compliment a pale skin so well!

    • I for sure didn’t. But I guess they don’t really fit my personality as well as bold lips and browns. Not that fairy kind of girl…

  • I think the pastels are lovely on you! It looks very wearable your version! 🙂

    • Do you wear pastels, being another pale beauty?

      • hehe the beauty bit made me smile, thank you! I unearthed some old photos the other day of me wearing my go-to pastel pink eyeshadow in highschool actually! It was shimmery too…ha! But I’ve been told (I had a personal stylist come over for a wardrobe detox) that pastels aren’t the best near my face. I still kept a few pastel pieces to wear though 😉

        • I had one of these color consultations a while ago as well, and she recommended I´d wear rich jewel tones, something I would never have thought of. Somehow I always figured that blondes wear baby blue and pastel pink. I do look way better in those colors though, so I guess she knew what she was talking about.

          • Yep I got the same advice! Brighter colours work better on me.

  • Another great look! You’ve really nailed the eyes xx

    • I was so happy with the mixing results, after a first swatch through my eyeshadow collection I was desperate I wouldn’t even come close! You see, it pays off hoarding many different shades.

  • this look is amazing. well done!

Yay, my favourite series is here again! 🙂 Love how you re-created this look – I think that the light blue shade looks really good on you – the whole look is very fresh, healthy and spring-like. <3

    • Somehow I just don’t feel like a pastel kind of girl. Not enough fairy in my personality I guess.

  • What’s with this year’s spring collections and yellow on the brow bone?!
Regardless of what you think, this look really suits you! I don’t think I’d personally wear it, since pastels don’t suit me – for real.

    • I wondered about that too. Is yellow the next big thing? I don’t hope so, it isn’t a color I really enjoy in my makeup, to be honest.

  • I love the dressing up and awkward poses the most 😀 I think the eyeshadows really suit you! Great colors 🙂

    • All this posing is actually very hard, I have much more respect for the people doing that for a living now than I had before. Most of us usually have one „picture face“ they present whenever there is a camera involved.

  • Oooh love this pastel look! The highlighter in this collection is simply gorgeous. I’m very tempted to get it.

    • It is one of the pieces I wouldn’t use out of fear to destroy it.

  • I like this! It’s a little 60’s!

    • It is, now that you mention it. All the light blue eye shadow.

  • I think the pastel eyes are my favorite part of this look. They give off a really pretty and soft eye opening effect. You’re inspiring me to get out my pastel eye shadows now Anne 🙂

  • very cute look <3

  • Even though you think pastels don’t suit you, I think the opposite, pastels suit you well. I don’t think pastels suit me so I haven’t worn them for years. I saw a few photos of some MAC makeup artists with yellow on brow bone, I hope it is not gonna be a new trend!

  • I’m not a big fan of pastels either…at least on my face. Otherwise they’re alright. I think you did a really good job at recreating the look, especially on the lips!

Gorgeous look. I’m not that big on pastels and stick to smokey eyes but I’d really consider switching it up for spring after seeing this. Also love how you use the Maybelline eraser before applying your other face products – gives such a lovely effect! x

not a massive fan of pastels to be honest, I can wear pastel clothes but makeup is difficult to pull! Having said that, you did a great job, love the eyes and your version is much more wearable than the models 😀

You look absolutely stunning 🙂 I’ve always wanted to try the maybelline undereye concealer but never actually got around to it. You really nailed the recreation and you look gorgeous 🙂 There are so many products that you use that I really want to try out…. I’ll have to give them a go 🙂

  • I love this look Anne, its so natural and effortless. The eye shadow brings out the warmth and cool tones in your eyes and I love the base so much, its incredibly natural and dewy, it just has a lovely glow.

And don’t get me started on that Lancôme Mascara, I received it for my birthday last year, became absolutely obsessed with it and what decides to happen a few months down the line, the suction thingy that pulls out all the excess mascara off the wand, decides to pop into the tube. Nightmare, oh well, I’m perfectly happy with my Maybelline one haha ♥

  • I really do think this look suits you! Speaking about re-creation, I think shadows should have been a bit more brighter and blue tones. But overall, you did amazing! I would so wear this 🙂
