Inspired by … Lancome French Innocence Collection Spring 2015

If you are not familiar with the „Inspired by…“-series, click here. Short story even shorter, I try to recreate the makeup worn by a model in the ad for a seasonal campaign with the makeup I already own.

This time I chose Lancome´s French Innocence Collection.
Paris and France really have a moment this spring. Not that I am complaining, I love France and going to Paris in spring (and eating my body weight in macarons) is something I would totally do.

Lancome French Innocence Spring 2015

What drew me to this campaign (despite the thought of macarons) was the eye makeup. The combination of green and orange, paired with a pigmented pink lip aren’t what I expect to see in spring.

And they aren’t something I would ever think of wearing, either. Greens with green eyes? Orange in the crease? I figured I would look like a parrot, but decided to give it a go anyway.
Makeup is all about leaving your comfort zone sometimes!

Actually very happy with the look!

After priming my lid and lower lash line with MAC Paint Pot in „Painterly“, I used  MAC „Shimmer Moss“ on an angled brush around my upper lash line and the outer half of the lower lash line, layering the shadow for color intensity.
Then I took MAC „Saffron“ into my crease, sheering it out with a blending brush.
To add some drama, I tightlined the outer corner of my upper and lower waterline and applied Artdeco Ultra Effect Mascara.
Here a close up of the eyes:

The only lip product from my collection that came close (but still wasn’t vibrant enough) was MAC´s Lipglass in Rose Hue.

On my face I used Garniers BB Cream (Review here) and a little bit of The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in 02. To get a dewy spring skin (and because Agata kept telling me to use my highlighters) I dusted some MAC Shell Pearl Beautypowder across my cheekbones, bridge of the nose and cupids bow.

  • I love the Inspired By series so much on your blog. Another gorgeous look. I remember when you said on Twitter you were hesitant about wearing green and coral on your eyes but it totally works for you. You look beautiful! And you made me smile really big by using the highlighter, I think it looks really lovely on you! And I like the slightly more subtle lips than what the model is wearing. I think I am going to try this look myself!

    • If you do so, make sure to send me a picture! I would love to see it on you.
When I wore it, I was surprised every time I caught a glimpse in the mirror, but I really ended up liking it. I will totally wear it, but with a natural lip.
The highlighter is really lovely. Although it is called a face powder, I think it is to shimmery to put it all over your face. I have to admit I bought it for the packaging only back in the days.

    • I try not to buy makeup just for the packaging but I sure have in the past. Mac gets me every time!

I am not sure if I have similar colors, that Mac greenish eyeshadow looks so pretty but I will see if Temptalia has any dupes for that shade!

    • I TRY not to do so, too, but the flesh is weak whenever I see a MAC Collection…

  • Nailed it 😀 I really love all your copy/inspiration posts.

    • Thank you. They are fun to do and don't require me to think of a look myself. If I do so, I end up with the same eye/lip scheme I always do. Caught up in my routine, I guess.

  • Hey Linda, I love these posts! You should do them more often!

This is not a look I'd wear often in real life, although I do have a Givenchy spring look planned for tomorrow. That green kajal I wasn't sure I could work with turned out to be pretty cool! I might be able to work with these blues as well 🙂

    • I really enjoy doing them, but they are very time consuming, so once a month is all Incan handle at the moment.
Can't wait to see your green liner look!

  • Oh, great post! Can't wait to see more inspired by looks 🙂 I love this! I think you did a great job with it.. and it will work perfectly for spring/summer!! I also love that you're daring enough to pull off so much color on the eyes. Kudos :)!!

    • Thank you! These posts are great fun.
Surprisingly enough, I felt really comfortable wearing this combination, and have been wearing a slightly different version a lot recently.
Stepping out of your comfort zone can be rewarding sometimes.

  • I love paris and I'm gonna be all over that palette <3

Those are the actual colours of Paris, the city of love, lights, and macarons

    • I spotted it in Duty-Free the other day and it is gorgeous!
Seems like you enjoyed your trip to Paris! Was this your first time there?
