Looking for a New Years Eve Makeup? – Be inspired!

It has been more than a year now that I have been doing the „Inspired by…“ series, a monthly feature where I try to recreate the look from a seasonal ad, using products I already own.

And while I was browsing my pictures, I realized that most of them are pretty outgoing and party appropriate, so I figured: What better way to recap these posts than today?

A sparkly purple eye? Or something else?
A sparkly purple eye? Or something else?

Maybe you will find something that will inspire you when going out tonight. If so, please drink some Champagne for yours truly, sitting at home with a gigantic bump and water to celebrate.

Absolutely stunning looks, My NYE will be spent reading a book and having an early night… I’m boring as hell

    • I´ll add in cheese fondue, but the rest will probably be just like that. Any excuse for a nap is welcome!

  • Lovely looks, especially the one for the Guerlain Les Tendres spring collection! Happy new year!

    • Les Tendres was the most popular „Inspired by…“ blog post of all times according to the statistic. Happy New Year!

  • The Babor look is probably my favorite! But that little pop of turquoise on the eyes also looks really pretty.

    • It actually made me wear more color on the eyes this summer. Mission accomplished, I´d say.

  • Such amazing looks, I’ve really enjoyed your blog this year! My fav is the Barbour look. Gemma x

    • It was the first look I ever did in this series, and I am happy to see it still is among the favorites.

  • I love the Babor and the Cosmopolite!!! And Golden Shock is my fave pose! 2016 is here! Happy New Year!

    • My husband took the picture of the Golden Shock Collection, it was such a struggle to get it right! Happy New Year, Laarni.

  • Artdeco Majestic Collection! Although Guerlain Les Tendres was beautiful too! I’m meeting friends for a few drinks after midnight and have no idea what I will do make up wise so this post has got me thinking and given me some inspiration, thanks!

    • Let me know what you are going for in the end.

      • I went for pjs and film with my family instead so there was no make up involved. Possible the most chilled NYE I’ve ever had. Hope you had a good one! x

        • I had a full face of makeup, then homemade cheese fondue courtesy of Mr. Loca (delicious!) and fell asleep on the couch at around 11 p. The fireworks woke me up, I took off my makeup and went to bed. Pretty chilled, I´d say…

          • Very chilled! Sounds lovely!

  • Laura

  • I remember most of these looks but your inspired look from January 2015 (Guerlain) is by far my favourite. It’s a very natural and radiant look and it really highlights your natural beauty, Anne. Your blog has come so far and it gets better with every new post and I hope 2016 will be a bigger, better and more brilliant year for you and family. xx

    • It was one of my husbands top three as well. He claims I look the least „made up“at it, which is a total misconception. It took ages!
I am not sure what 2016 will bring blogwise, but as far as I am concerned I am getting bigger by the day 😉
Thank you for being around, Shireen, the conversations spend with you were among the highlights of 2015, and I am looking forward to many more to come in 2016!

    1. You’re so gorgeous.
    2. Your talent is off the max. Teach me your ways.
    3. I’m happy I came across your blog – thank you for being an inspiration.
    4. Happy new year! I hope 2016 brings you more than you hope for. I know it’s going to be brilliant and I wish you and your family all the best.

    Ella Pinto xx

    • Thank you, Ella. I am more of an enthusiastic amateur when it comes to applying makeup, and to e honest I am overwhelmed by your lovely comment. Makeup is great fun, and I enjoy trying different styles, so this series is a lot of fun to create.
Happy New Year to you as well, I hope you enjoy your evening and start 2016 by creating awesome memories!

  • I LOVE this series and always look forward to it (I’m sure I’ve said this before, but it doesn’t matter, I need to address it again!) I’m in love with the purpley eyeshadow looks but it seems like I’m stuck inside this evening, as I’ve had an allergic episode again and I feel under the weather…

    Pop over to my blog!

    • Thank you, Sarah.
I am sorry to hear you aren’t feeling your best today, I hope come 2016 that will have passed! And as I am spending the evening on the couch as well, I am sending you lots of positive couch vibes! Still am wearing a red lip though, even though it is not going to last through the cheese fondue for sure.

      • Thank you for such a lovely comment! Haha, sending positive couch vibes to you aswell and rock that red lip, girl!

Happy new year and wish you all the best!

    • You don’t get to see the many failed attempts that read to the one picture I am sharing, but thank you. I hope you are having a great New Years Eve!

  • There is something about the Chanel Summer pic that I really like. Dior 2014 was also a great one, the pose being very Hepburn, both Audrey and Katherine at the same time!

    • The closest I will ever get to resemble any Hepburn out there, I guess. Thank you Erin!

I have this NARS palette in shades of purple that I always find myself reaching for and I think I will probably be using it tonight as well. Happy New Year to you and your family Anne! All the best to you in 2016!

  • Love your inspired by Babor one, the second one, it’s beautiful (especially the hairstyle on you!)

    • I spend mine on the couch as well, but I made it a point to wear makeup. It smudged when I fell asleep on the couch at 11 pm…

    • Sich vor laufender Kamera zu schminken ist deutlich schwieriger, als ich dachte, das sieht bei anderen (unter anderem Dir) immer so einfach aus!

  • This is a great idea! A lot of the looks I’ve seen you do for this series are definitely great for a celebration, compiling them makes perfect sense! I really like the November and December 2014 looks – I hadn’t seen them before!

I hope you had a lovely night! My New Years Eve sounds quite similar to yours, haha, minus the bum, of course! Still, it’s nice to have a quiet night sometimes!

    • They are pretty outgoing, so I figured they´d work well. And I wanted to see them one next to the other, to see how much makeup can change a person, to be honest.

  • I do love these ‚inspired by‘ posts, it’s cool that you’ve gathered them all together! My favourites are the last one you did inspired by the Chanel collection, and the one inspired by the Artdeco Majestic collection – purple looks great on you I think!
By the way, happy new year to you! 🙂

    • I have been wearing a lot of purple this year, somehow I never did in the years before.

  • I love these looks! I love that you use colors in your makeup. I feel like most people nowadays use browns and greys and are afraid to use bold colors. I approve 😀 xx

    • I use what is used in the promo pictures, I probably would be much less adventurous on my own.

  • I love these looks, the one inspired by Dior with the red lip is my favourite!

    • Mine too, I feel like it is the closest to what I would really wear.

  • All of these are so gorgeous, it’d be difficult to find a favorite one! I love the idea of these posts, you look beautiful in every single one of them.

    Thirteen Thoughts

    • I loved to see them side by side to see how much you actually can change your face with makeup.
