Oskia Renaissance 360 anti-ageing & brightening supreme cream

When you start blogging, you have many things you dream of.

Fancy events, exclusive previews and complete luxury makeup collections provided for free are just a few of them.

Of course, sharing your opinions and interacting with likeminded people around the world is what is mentioned whenever you are asked why you started to blog, and it really is true for the most of us, but I won’t deny that a little of the other stuff wouldn’t hurt as well.

Oskia Renaissance 360 anti-ageing & brightening supreme cream

As most of you know though, these things are the exception for the majority of bloggers, not the rule. But sometimes you get a taste of what they´d actually feel like.

I my case that was when I realized that the Oskia Renaissance 360 anti-ageing & brightening supreme cream included in my Cult Beauty box was an „Exclusive Preview“ launching in March 2016. Which meant I could play with it, thoroughly test it and be ready for a review with launch date! Like a proper blogger!

Granted, me and the other 10000 people that received the box, but hey, it still felt pretty great.

So without further ado, here are my thought on Oskias new launch.

What Oskia claims:

A 360 degree vitamin-rich day-cream that combats the aging process on all fronts.

Skin elasticity is improved, fine lines reduced and hydration increased, while targeted actives reduce pigmentation and fade discoloration to even skintone and brighten. Powerful nutrients nourish and enhance skin condition, supported by antioxidants and   an underlying SPF 8 to protect.

Packaging and price

The full size contains 40 ml and retails for 65 GBP (84 €) on Cult Beauty here.

My sample included 10 ml, which lasted me a little longer than eight weeks.

The product comes with a pump container in Oskias classic and sophisticated white and silver packaging I have to admit I love.

Oskia Renaissance 360 anti-ageing & brightening supreme cream
Aren´t the details just lovely?

Texture and scent

Lightweight, easily absorbed and without any residue on my skin, the texture was an absolute dream. Now my skin is dehydrated and aging rather than dry, so I can imagine it being not enough for dry skinned people.

The scent took me by surprise though. Judging by the packaging I had expected a barely scented product, but what greeted me was the quite strong scent of roses. A short inquiry to a fellow blogger (Hi Blanche aka „The Beauty Bloss“!) enlightened me: It is the Oskia signature scent. I am just not too sure if I am very keen on it.

Feels like a cream, looks like a cream, smells like a rose garden...
Feels like a cream, looks like a cream, smells like a rose garden…

Despite the strong scent it was everything I wished for. Hydrating, lightweight, working great under makeup. As far as brightening goes I wasn’t able to see a noticeable difference, but I have been brightening products for years now, And anti-aging? Well, only time will tell, I guess, but it sure does reduce fine lines from dehydration.

Favorable ingredients:

  • Glycerin: Moisturizing
  • Zinc oxide: Soothing, antibacterial
  • Jojoba Seed Oil: Moisturizing, very lightweight
  • Argan Oil: Mositurizing, antioxidant
  • Inulin: Softening
  • Galactoarabinan: Increases collagen production
  • Lupin Seed: Increases collagen production
  • Shea Butter: Moisturizing
  • Sunflower Seed Oil: Rich in Vitamin E and linoleic acid, antiinflammatory
  • Swiss Garden Cress Liposomes: anti-oxidant, inhibits MSH that leads to hyper pigmentation
  • Opuntia Ficus Indica Stem Extract: Hydrating, firming
  • Hyaluronate: Hydrating
  • Vitamin E: Antioxidant
  • Linoleic Acid: Omega-6 fatty acid

Unfavorable Ingredients:

  • Alcohol: But way down the ingredient list
  • Parfum: Made from natural fragrance, again way down the ingredient list

Does it live up to its claims?

It has the promised effects I can actually see (hydrating, reducing fine lines) and enough ingredients to back up the other claims. I would have wished for some ingredients like Niacinamide, which I adore to fight hyper pigmentation, but I guess you cant have it all in one bottle.

Oh, and you know how I feel about SPF in your skincare: SPF 8? In a sparingly spread moisturizer? Don’t rely on that. If you go outside, use a proper sunscreen!

Update from Oskia:

After this post was published, Oskia PR reached out to me to clarify the subject of SPF 8 that seemed to be addressed a lot in the comments:

SPF 8 – why so low?
„This is the natural underlying SPF of the product (caused by a tiny amount of Zinc Oxide and anti-oxidants combined) which will provide low level cover first thing in the morning when the sun is minimal. We do not believe in using a high level mineral SPFs in products such as day creams, BB cream & foundations, as high level mineral SPF provide such a good barrier that it prevents actives penetrating the skin. We also do not advocate a chemical SPF in these products as this gives the wearer a false sense of security. SPF needs to be regularly applied during the day, not once in the morning.“
I hope that information is helpful.

Will I rebuy?

Come winter again. I don’t really feel the need for a moisturizer throughout summer.

I just wished it smelled a little different…

Who do I recommend it to?

People with aging, dehydrated skin that want a lightweight daytime moisturizer.

People with acne-prone skin and spot marks.

If your skin is very dry though, or if you don’t like roses, look somewhere else.

Now I just need some fancy event invitation to continue my dreaming…

What are your secret wishes when it comes to blogging? Events, makeup or quitting your daytime job?

And how do you feel about rose scent?

  • SPF 8? Yeah that’s really not much… It probably comes naturally with the zinc oxide in the formula too, so I wonder why they even mention it. Other than that, this cream sounds really great! I do like rose scent but I prefer my skincare very subtly scented, so I’m not sure if it would be a problem for me.

    • I think mentioning a SPF of 8 is really quite pointless, it reminds me of the „sun oils SPF 4“ that used to be around when I was a child and whose biggest benefit was that they smelled of coconut.
I did get used to the scent and enjoyed it in the end, but I would advise giving it a sniff first, as it is quite pricey.

  • AngeliePangilinan

This cream sounds promising but I’m not sure about the SPF8. It’s too little for my daily needs 🙁

Angelie // Althea Korea Haul, Unboxing, and Shopping Experience

    • In my opinion you should never rely on your moisturizer or makeup for SPF anyway, as you usually don’t apply enough to get the coverage you need for protection.

  • „smells like a rose garden“ wow, it seems to be an amazing product. Thank you for this review, dear!
    xx Elisa

  • I think an SPF 8 is a little bit pointless and besides, that means that it can’t be used in the evening… Yet apart from that, it does sound lovely, the ingredients are really good. I really want to try some Oskia products!

    • I think it is the Zink Oxide that provides the SPF, and in this case I wouldn’t mind using it in the evening, I use my LRP Serozinc at night as well. I just don’t understand why they mention it. I mean, 8? That is like nonexistent.

  • Sarah Laird

I do love an occasional rosy scent but I can imagine it getting sickly using this every day. It does sound like a fantastic product though – I especially like that it works to improve skin tone as I have a lot of pigmentation trouble! x

    Viva Epernay

    • I got used to the scent quite quickly, it isn’t too sweet for daily use in my opinion, even though I prefer my products be unscented.

  • Hi Anne! Thanks for the link 😉
Like you, I got this in the Cult Beauty box and it does feel rather special to preview a product prior to its launch. I adored this cream and I pumped my last pump of it this week just in time for the launch hehe. And I did place an order yesterday in anticipation for its arrival at my doorstep in time for special little occasion coming soon 😉
I adore a rose scent, and with my normal/little dry skin it works beautifully. It just turned Autumn here, so it will be well loved product over the cooler months xx

    • I wil repurchase come autumn here as well, but I decided to invest in something else as a delivery present to myself. Right in time to get the Spring Cult Beauty Box, of course.
The scent didn’t bother me after I got used to it, so I don’t think I will mind it next time around.

  • I’m so glad that I read this review because I was about to buy this but I don’t think it will suit me due to having dry skin. I’d like to try a sample but you’ve definitely prevented me spending quite a bit of money on a product that probably wouldn’t suit me. Great review, as always xx

    • Definitely try a sample, as it is quite pricey. It might work great for you though, but judging from my experience I wouldn’t be too sure. Please keep me updated if you end up trying it, I´d love to hear how someone with dry skin gets along with it.

  • Christine K

This sounds great but I would have to sample this before jumping into the larger bottle. I do love the smell of roses but I’m hesitant at the word „strong“ smell of roses! Wonderful review.

    • I actually got used to the scent quite quickly, maybe it was only my first surprise that made me notice it so much.

  • You are very lucky to get one of that sample lol.
Anyways, i think it suits my dry skin.
Though i prefer a sweet smell for cream.

    Have a great day!

  • Siffat Haider

I’m too young to be using anti-ageing creams just yet, but this looks like a great product. I’ll go see if they have other products that I need – I’m currently looking for a good under eye cream. Thanks for sharing!

    • I am still on the hunt for the perfect under eye cream, so no spot on recommendations from me on this topic quite yet.

  • Ooh this I love the sound of! I love the look of the packaging, texture and love anything that is rose scented! Beautiful review Anne! Hope you are having a great day so far! Maybe today is the day 🙂 Gemma x

  • Rasa Virviciute

Really want to try some Oskia products now! xo

  • tayloraube

This cream looks wonderful! I also really enjoy the packaging. I loved this post, thanks for sharing!

  • tayloraube

This cream looks wonderful! I also really enjoy the packaging. I loved this post, thanks for sharing!

  • I might have to try this product out because it sounds like my skin would love it (aside from the scent). Definitely going to try and get a sample 🙂

  • My secret wish about blogging is definitely being able to live off something I love doing, which is writing and playing with makeup. There’s nothing worse than having a job you don’t like… Well, thinking about it, there probably are a few things, but you get what I mean.
Although I’m sure that attending some fancy event with you would be a lot of fun!

    • Well, at least you got yourself a great internship to pursue that goal!
I would love to make at least some money from blogging, but so far and despite all the effort I have given it I am barely able to cover my expenses (products I buy not included), so I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

  • I’m seriously impressed that this 10mL sample came in such packaging, that’s a huge bonus there. As in what I wish for in blogging? I seriously have no idea, Anne. I guess it would be nice to make some money of it and I’m wondering if I should start using affiliate links but I have no idea how or where to start. Any suggestions?

    Shireen | Reflection of Sanity

    • I have suggestions, but I am not really an expert. So far I have been barely able to cover my expenses for hosting etc. over the course of a year, not to mention products, equipment or anything else. I´ll send you a DM on Twitter.

  • Roses scent again… I don’t understand why so many brands use it. But aside that, this sounds like such an amazing product!

    -Leta | The Nerdy Me

    • Roses seem to be increasingly popular, but to me they smell outdated. It is a lovely version though, and one I got used to quite quickly, so it didn’t bother me in the long run.

  • Roses scent again… I don’t understand why so many brands use it. But aside that, this sounds like such an amazing product!

    -Leta | The Nerdy Me

  • OoooOOOOOOoooh! Fancy! Love rose. I guess continuing to write for a living is my hope with the blog x
    Becca | theBeautyInbox

    • I would love to reach the point where I support my hosting expenses, writing for a living isn’t something I think is achievable for me.

  • Scented products can be a bit irritating at times, but if the scent is subtle enough, I don’t tend to mind. Rose scent seems to be quite popular lately!

    • I feel so too. To me it feels a little old who done wrong, but that scent was a nice rose scent.

  • I am not really a fan of rose scented products, especially when it comes to skincare I like using unscented ones. Except that, this cream sounds pretty good.
I guess attending fancy events would be my secret wish, it would be fun to have some drinks and meet with the bloggers:)

    Ela BellaWorld

    • Are there blogger events in Turkey? There are a few in Germany, but very few, to be honest, and none that I would be invited to.

      • There are so many events but all of them are for Turkish blogs. I used to have Turkish/English but it was so much work and I didn’t have so many Turkish readers then I just quit doing that. Maybe one day I will be invited to an event, it would be cool to meet some of the bloggers I know.

        • Do you follow a lot of turkish blogs?

          • I actually don’t follow any Turkish blogs. They don’t really interact with people so I stopped checking them a long time ago.

          • Strange. Many German blogs are the same, but there are a few exceptions that I love.

  • I am not sure I could deal with the strong scent, but it sounds amazing!

Angie | Chocolate & Lipstick | Beauty, Fashion & Lifestyle Blog

  • I generally prefer unscented products but I actually don’t mind anything rose scented and I’m currently using two cleansers that smell of roses. I’ve heard good things about this brand and this cream sounds really lovely as well.

    • If i have the choice, I go for unscented as well, but the cream really convinced me. Now I am curious to try more from the brand.

  • I have never heard of Oskia. This cream sounds nice. I like the fact that it’s lightweight.

    • It is a pretty popular brand around Europe, but quite pricey.

  • great review 🙂

  • This sounds like an absolute dream, I love at how hydrating it is, I’m always looking for a product that does that. I love Oskia as a brand in general, I practically live by the Renaissance cleansing balm, so I might just have to delve into my bank account and purchase this ♥

    • Let me know how you get on if you do. The price is the one downside, I fear…

  • Pisa

Wow! This cream seems to be great! Need to check it out for next Winter!
    xx Pisa ❤

  • It’s a shame about the scent! I’m really not a fan of floral scents. Otherwise it sounds quite nice for winter – although I agree the SPF is really poor!

I never imagined I’d get any free stuff with blogging – so partnering with one of my favourite stores for free clothes last year was incredibly awesome! 🙂

    Away From The Blue Blog

    • The SPF is basically nonexistent, but then again I never rely on my moisturizer or makeup for SPF anyway, but always use a separate one.
I can imagine a partnership with a favorite store being a great opportunity, I felt the same way when I got send the lipsticks from my giveaway.

  • Great review Anne! I wish this came with a little more SPF, it would’ve been perfect!

    • I always use a separate SPF anyway, but SPF 8 is strange. I don’t know why they even mention it.

  • The cream sounds lovely but I don’t think I’ll try it as it’s too expensive. As for the blogging, yes, it would be lovely to attend some posh events 🙂 I’ve been lucky to be invited to a few PR’s events but them being during the week and me not leaving in London and not having family around to help with the kids means I haven’t been able to attend any yet. x

    • London seems to be buzzing with events, but there aren’t many around here in Germany anyway, and if they are, I am not invited, as my blog is far too small. Plus the family plus full-time job issue would be there as well, so i probably wouldn’t be able to go anyway.
But just imagine all the other people, free bubblies and food and chatting about makeup all night long?

  • It sounds nice but I’m not sure it would be for me. Shea and Jojoba are often acne triggers.

    • I had issues with Shea in the past, but not with this product luckily.

  • thefashionsalt

That must be fun to test something before it’s released. Though this wouldn’t work for my super dry skin, but it sounds like a great product. As for blogging I’d love to be invited to attend a show during NY fashion week.

    • I can imagine that being a big dream come true for a fashion blogger like you. Fingers crossed you will reach that goal someday soon!

  • Sounds promising for sure, even with those two nasties in there that I usually avoid. But like you said, if they’re way down the list it’s not that big a deal.

    • It seems to be very hard to find a completely fragrance free product these days, I am happy I am not allergic to any of them!

  • Really wish I can try some Oskia but I do not think they are sold here in the US. I here great things about their cleanser from Lily Pebbles and Anna 😛

Maireem | My Fair Autumn | Instagram | Twitter | Snapchat: myfairautumn

    • Yes, these two sparked my interest for the brand as well, but as it is very pricey I haven’t tried anything else yet.
Cult Beauty does ship to the US if you ever want to give it a go.

  • It sounds like a great product! I don’t care for floral scents, but rose is the exception. So long as it’s not super strong. I love a nice light rose scent.

    • To me it smells a little outdated, but this particular one was quite nice. I got used to it quickly and didn’t mind it in the end.

  • I got used to the scent quite quickly, but I get what you mean, rose scent feels a little dated to me as well.
And for the bet: Exactly on the 6th or latest on the 6th?

  • Maybe give it a sniff anyway, I got used to the scent quite quickly and will be repurchasing the product for sure come winter.

  • Even though I don’t need it just yet, your review tells me it’s quite amazing… And I absolutely agree with you on everything you wrote about bloggers and blogging.. It’s pretty amazing… I may buy this product in a few years, but I don’t exactly love rose scent, so that may affect what I decide 🙂 Great review, as always 🙂 x

    • Thank you. I guess in a few years I will be raving about other stuff, given my curiosity and my changing needs. That is, if I am still around blogging.

  • Pam Scalfi

    quitting my job haha

not sure id like this, rose scent is not something I like but glad it does work despite its smells
    Pam xo/ Pam Scalfi♥

    • I got used to the smell quite quickly, which surprised me, but the texture and effect really impressed me.

  • Great post, I love it, thanks for sharing!!!

  • Oooh this sounds good! I didn’t realize Oskia had a signature scent, especially the Renaissance line! I have a new moisturiser to use (or two) but I’ll keep this in mind. Also, the packaging is perfect! 🙂

    Advaita | Blush Canvas

    • At least this is what I have been told, it is the only Oskia product I have tried so far…

  • Itzel Najar
  • Glad you are liking this product! I’ve never heard of this brand.
    xo, Lily
    Beauty With Lily

    • They are quite popular here in Europe, and quite pricey, to be honest.

  • It sounds very nice but too bad about the scent as I don’t like strongly scented products. The ingredients are really great and the packaging is just too stunning. Great post!

    Chaste & Beautiful

    • I got used to the scent quite quickly, so it didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would.

  • I like rose scents, they don’t bother me as long as it’s not too heavy. But, I do use rose water in my skin care because it actually has a lot of benefits, and it’s probably the only „scent“ that I use in my skincare. I mentioned recently in a foodie post. And, I understand you about the benefits of blogging, it’s still nice to be able to play with products before they launch, even if 1000+ others are too. At least, you were included right? 🙂 I know, I love those little benefits. I love this brand, but have not used this particular product, so may have to check it out.Have a good weekend.

    • What is your favorite item? I would love to try some more from Oskia.

      • I liked their perfect cleanser, for my skin it was nice. I just used it in rotation with my Clarins cleanser, since it’s pricier than Clarins.

  • Rachel Vogt (Rachel Vogt Trend

I don’t wear anything scented, but love the packaging.
    XOXO, Rachel

  • idu

I can imagine that receiving this would feel good. I love the details and I’m surprised it’s scented but hey, I love rose scent to I won’t complain. It does look like a great product and I’m glad you found it worth your while. Nothing like a product that delivers what it promises.

    • Yes, so many things are disappointing, but that one was a real winner!

  • Love your review! I think blogging shall be an exciting hobby in the first place, but being able to try such fancy products is definitely a nice bonus!

    • Of course it should be, and I hope it will continue to be an exciting hobby for a long time to come.

  • I started blogging because it’s something I had wanted to for a while. As a place for me to just do something meaningful with my life – despite the fact that I have no idea how to make it so. Truthfully, that was the main reason. But like you said – as a blogger you have a lot of things you dream of. So spot on that I couldn’t have said it any better.

There are so many things I want to try out, so many products I’d love to get my hands on, that I don’t even know where to start. Getting them for free would have be a dream. A plus, let’s say.

I think I own one Oskia product but I have no idea where it is, or if it’s in fact an Oskia product. I just know I’ve seen that logo in my house somewhere. Anyway – I know that anti-ageing beauty items are something we should start using at a pretty early age to actually see a difference in time. But I still think I’m going to wait a few years for that. Maybe when I hit 27? Although you do recommend this to people with acne prone skin so maybe it’ll be a good product for me.

Still this sounds like a lovely product and I love how you loved it and the fact that it works great under makeup, that it’s lightweight and that you saw a difference on your face when it comes to brightness and most importantly, that you’ll rebuy it once winter comes up makes it all the better.

    Ella Pinto xx

    • I honestly don’t know what the perfect age is to start with anti-aging beauty items, as there is such a great variety among them. The number one anti-aging product is SPF, and we all always use that, but the richer, collagen stimulating things may be perfect for people aged 30+.
I guess you should go by what you feel your skin needs.

  • Hmm, it sounded so appealing until you mentioned it’s not for the dry-skinned 🙁

    • Some drier skinned girls like it, I guess if you pair it with the right serum it will work for you. I just felt like it was perfect for my more oily skin, being so lightweight.

  • Morgan Miller

I’m personally not to keen on rose scents, which is a shame because the rest of the product sounds fab!
    Morgan | http://www.justmorgs.com

    • I got used to the scent much quicker than I imagined, so it wasn’t that big of a downer for me.

  • Toyas Tales

I have never heard of this brand but the moisturizer seems like it would be perfect for my oily skin.

  • too bad about the scent! can you probably tone the smell down with something? (can’t suggest anything coz i’m not experienced at these things, haha sorry!) btw i feel ya on the perks of being a blogger in terms of freebies. it was definitely precious to be offered clothes and other products for free just because. but for me i came to a point where i felt like receiving freebies was the big reason of why I force myself to keep producing articles every now and then, and realised that i had departed from my initial purpose of blogging. so now i’m cutting myself off the paid promotions and etc for an indefinite period. glad that i’m beginning to feel like blogging is my outlet for art and ideas again.

    • I haven’t even gotten near the point where I feel the need to write for products, as the things I receive are few and far in between, but I agree that this can be a downside.
I do turn down many opportunities tough, especially clothes, because I just wouldn’t know why I should write about them, I am not a fashion blogger by any means.

  • So süß wie du schreibst, wie man sich am Anfang das Blogger-Leben vorstellt. Gratuliere dir, dass du dieses Produkt vorab testen durftest und dich ein wenig wie ein Star-Blogger fühlen durftest! Wünsche dir ein tolles WE! xxx

  • It’s a shame about the strong scent, but I love the addition of argan oil. Sounds like a luxurious product. Thanks for sharing!

    • It has a lovely blend of ingredients and I loved the effect it had on my skin, so I could forgive the scent.

  • Sounds like a lovely product – but the price and perfume would put me off purchasing it, my skin is so picky about these things! Great review Anne x

    • I can really see it being problematic for people with sensitive skin, which is a shame, because I love the product as such.

  • Sounds like a great product 🙂

My latest Blog :Tarte Rainforest of the Sea™ limited-edition eyeshadow palette

  • Kay (shoesandglitter)

Congrats on the exclusive preview! 🙂 This sounds like a fantastic product, and I adore the packaging! I actually don’t mind that it’s scented – I like it when my skincare products smell nice. 😉 Shame that it’s a little on the pricey side, though. Would you say that it’s really worth the £65? It seems super steep for a cream!! x

As for my wishes when it comes to blogging… I would definitely love to be able to do it full time, one day. Or at least mostly full time, perhaps with an easy part-time job to use a a financial ’safety net‘. I hate my current full-time office job, it makes me totally miserable and I can’t wait to just leave it, hopefully one day soon. x

    • I guess only you can decide if it is worth the price for you. I prefer to invest in my skin care, especially my serums and second cleanse and don’t mind spending that much on a moisturizer that really works great for my skin. On the other hand I don’t invest in other stuff that easily, like lipsticks or handbags. That is a very personal decision, and for my aging, acne prone skin struggling with hyper pigmentation it is definitely worth it.

I remember you mentioning you dislike your daytime job, so being able to make a living from blogging sure sounds great, but after 1.5 years I can honestly say that I am pretty sure it is not going to happen for me. But fingers crossed you will get there, you’d surely deserve it.

      • Kay (shoesandglitter)

I think that skincare is one of those things that’s definitely worth investing in. Although I’d probably pass on this one, as it’s a little too steep for me & it contains alcohol which I have to avoid, even in tiny doses! Learned that the hard way after my mishap with Vichy and Clinique, lol. x

And, thank you! My current job is… Basically being an office slave for a minimum wage for a company that makes millions. I would love to be independent and achieve something, rather than work every day to make rich men even richer. That is the reality of any job though, I guess! x

        • I am privileged in the way that my job is meaningful to me on it´s own, even though it is totally making rich people richer in the end. But I can relate to wanting to be independent. One reason why I worked so hard for the last ten years was to get into a position where I was able to be the one in charge, not the one receiving orders. That makes a whole lot of a difference!

          • Kay (shoesandglitter)

That’s exactly what I’m after, also! I’d love to be independent instead of taking orders and being nothing more than just a tool, to be honest. I think it helps when a job is meaningful, but I write scripts for people that work in mobile support call centers, so yeah. 😀 x x

          • I guess it isn’t easy finding a calling in that.

  • Adaleta Avdic

The few things I have tried from Oskia have all been absolutely incredible. I wish getting my hands on their products was easier, but it’s awesome to live vicariously through you 😉 xx adaatude.com

    • Adaleta Avdic

PS I’d love to know how you got one of the the exclusive boxes for this new launch! adaatude@gmail.com 🙂

      • No secret. It was part of the Cult Beauty Autumn Gift with Purchase.

  • jodie.keith

This looks amazing and the packaging seems so luxe but it is just so pricey!

    Jodie @ Jodetopia x

    • It is, but I feel like skincare is worth investing in if the ingredients justify it.
