Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cleanser – Back in the days

When I was little, way before most of you were even born, we would get milk directly from a farmer. I grew up in a proper city, not out in the country, but my parents made an effort to raise us as „green“ as possible in a time where buying organic in a supermarket was unheard of.

Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cleanser

So among baking our bread at home and growing vegetables on a small piece of land, there was a farmer that would drive into our neighborhood once a week and sell milk to the people living there. Poured fresh into a churn.

Freshly poured milk smells nothing like the one you buy in stores. The scent is way more intense, has a hint of sour already and just smells … warm. If you have ever experienced it, you will know what I mean.

The Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cleanser smells exactly the same to me. Which is strange, because it is 100% vegan and contains no milk for sure.

What Skyn Iceland claims:

The one-two punch of living a stressful lifestyle and subjecting your skin to erratic weather can deplete moisture levels, leaving it irritable, dry and extremely delicate. A dream come true for skin in distress, this intensely comforting cream cleanser floods your complexion with replenishing extracts and natural moisturizers, while pure Icelandic glacial waters soften and soothe – all while dissolving dirt, oil and even your most stubborn makeup – even eye makeup!

Free of harsh chemicals, parabens, petroleum, formaldehyde, silicones, sulfate detergents, fragrance, and dye. 100% vegan. Dermatologist tested.

Facts:

Prize and size

One tube contains 150 ml and retails for 28 $ on the website here. I have been using this cleanser for around six months, a little goes a long way.

Texture and scent

It smells like fresh milk, a scent that brings back childhood memories for me but may not be everyones cup of tea. The texture is that of a proper cream cleanser, no surprises there.

Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cleanser – the product

Application and effects

The cream distributes easily, takes off my makeup if desired (I use it as a second cleanse) and rinses without a residue despite the shea butter it contains.

Favorable ingredients:

    • Icelandic Glacial Water: Said to be more soothing than regular water. I doubt that.
    • Glycerin: Hydrating

Unfavorable Ingredients:

As stated above it is free of parabens, mineral oil, alcohol and everything else that could possibly worry you. But if your skin is very sensitive or acne prone, the thyme extract or the shea butter could trouble you.

Does it live up to its claims?

Yes.

It is free of all the stuff it claims to be free off, it is full of nutrients, antioxidants and with the one exception of the thyme extract that could be potentially irritating, it contains a great blend of calming and moisturizing ingredients.

Would I repurchase?

No.

I can not fault that cleanser, and if my skin was irritated, I would probably love it, but right now, it just doesn’t excite me enough to go on the repurchase list of a cleanser enthusiast like I am.

Who do I recommend it to?

If irritated or dry skin is an issue for you, and if you like to buy vegan and free of the so called „nasties“, this cleanser is perfect for you.

The fact that, in comparison to many other „free of“ products out there, it is easy on the wallet is just the cherry on top.

And, as an added bonus, whenever you smell the cleanser you can picture little me, walking the streets with her blonde hair in braids, carrying a milk churn. If that doesn’t tempt you…
