If you remember my last Favorites post (read here if you missed it), you know I promised change. And change there is, but if it was for better or worse, only time and you, dear readers, can tell. Or should it be “Dear Watchers”, given it is a You Tube video? Are you the watchers on the Wall, sworn to defend humankind from boring and repetitive content? And can you tell I am really looking forward to the last season of Game of Thrones airing soon?
But wait, I am not really sure if I am looking forward to that. Game of Thrones, I mean. You see, I do look forward to watching it, but I am not looking forward to it being the last season. Does that make any sense?
Alas, the blog post seems to go the same way as the video did in terms of lacking structure. Editing made me realize I was all over the place, mixing favorites with disappointing products and personal stuff with seasonal things. It will improve with time. At least that is what I tell myself.
You may have noticed there wasn´t a Favorites post last month. Quite frankly, after doing my Favorites for 2016 (see Makeup and Skincare here in case you missed them), I felt like there wasn´t much to report.
So I settled for February Favorites and a short break, mentally preparing to have a really big list of things to mention.
Turns out, that isn´t the case. I do have quite a few makeup bits, but only one skincare item (shocking, I know) and I completely forgot about the lifestyle category. Bad Vlogger indeed.
2017, brand new and full of promises. And full of new discoveries, skincare and makeup wise I hope.
To be quite honest I don’t get the whole New Year New Me stuff, I like to make changes whenever I feel like doing them, not wait for a specific date. And my major changes have already happened, like going back to working full time, there is nothing that exciting in my near future.
So let´s take the time to look back and reflect on skincare, which is my favorite thing to do anyway.
I really was determined. You see, I was planning on doing a blogging break over Christmas, so I could finally relax. Just prepare some new posts.
And film a favorites video.
A short one, covering makeup and skincare.
But it seems I can´t do short. After rambling on for hours and then trying to edit it down, I surrendered. And accepted the fact that I had to do two videos. With two blogposts. And fit them into an already packed blogging and vlogging schedule.
November itself was a pretty uneventful month for me. It went by very quickly, and at the same time some days seemed to drag along, which is probably due to the fact that I did not do that much fun stuff.
It was all about preparation so I could have a little Christmas break from blogging despite starting to work again in December, and on top of that it was quite rainy, leaving me to the challenge of keeping two kids entertained indoors. I really did my best, but we still ended up with a few drawings on the wall in my daughters room. Oh well.
But enough of the blabbing, the best way to keep yourself entertained indoors is to focus on makeup and skincare, and that is exactly what I am going to talk about in this video.
October done and dusted, and things are getting cold here. Outside, that is. And inside, when our heating was broken. But it is fixed again. One thing I did not include in the October recap, but rest assured, it was on of my favorite things happening.
The fixing, not the breaking.
I seem to have lost track here. Back to the video: My October Favorites and some other stuff. As it goes.
August 2016 will forever be remembered as the month of boxes. And living out of boxes. And falling over boxes. You get the drill. But there still was some stuff, mostly the already unboxed stuff (ha, how many time can I say boxes in one paragraph?), that I enjoyed using.
So here they are: My August 2016 Favorites. Barely any makeup, some skincare and a lot of random stuff. But sometimes life is just that. Random.
As July is almost over, it is time for another favorites post.
With the upcoming move (it is actually moving day today!) and the incredible heatwave we had, makeup had to be quick and minimal. Not that I am complaining about the heat, not in the slightest. I feel a lot more energetic and happy when the sun is out, even though our current flat with the big window fronts was probably not the best place to be throughout the day.
As far as skincare is concerned, I didn´t really try much new things. Most of it was packed away in boxes anyway, and I wanted to finish as many products as possible, to not move half empty containers.
So prepare for minimal makeup, old favorites and a short episode of #grannygonewild at the end. And blooper, of course.
Another month, another favorites post. Ain´t that how it goes? I will tell you what was not my favorite this month in the post here:
You see, it was raining pretty much all June, and with June 21th coming along, I knew the days were going to get shorter. Now I am all about those long, warm and light summer evenings spend outdoors with friends and a cold drink, and if that didn´t happen before the nights are getting longer again, I feel cheated.
But enough moaning about the weather, it is time for the things I enjoyed!
