I don’t think I´d like to be a snake.
Don’t get me wrong, I think they have a certain beauty and I don’t mind touching them.
But I much prefer to have hands and walk around instead of sliding through the grass on my belly, not able to have a look around or actually grab something.
Like a lipstick, you know.
|REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask
One part of being a snake makes me totally envious though: The fact that they just shed their skin and look all dewy and young again. No need to worry about wrinkles or discoloration, every six month you just shed your skin and are done with it.
Wouldn’t that be great?
Oh well, I have hands to hold lipstick (for which I am thankful), but I need to rely on other things to get rid of my dead skin. Like the Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask for example.
What REN claims:
An instant complexion-perfecting mask that brightens and renews skintone and texture, minimizes pores, diminishes hyperpigmentation and reduces the appearance of fine lines in as little as 10 minutes.
The face mask comes in a partly see-through plastic container with a pump, contains 50 ml (1.7 oz) and retails for around 37€ in store or on Amazon here.
Unlike your typical white face mask this one is bright orange and feels like a gel when pumped out. But no need to worry, after applying the mask on your face (one pump will do the trick) you just look like you distributed honey all over your face.
|An orange gel, smelling amazing
Despite smelling like oranges with a little zing it is very comfortable to wear, I experienced no tingling or stripping sensation. But be aware that my skin isn’t sensitive at all, so if yours is easily angered you should probably patch test first. There are a lot of active ingredients in it after all.
– Grapeseed oil: Rich in Omega 3 fatty acids
– Coconut oil: Moisturizing, antibacterial, rich in fatty acids
– Lecithin: Smoothing
– Lactic Acid: AHA, gentle on the skin
– Glycolic Acid: AHA
– Citric Acid: AHA
– Black Currant Seed Extract: Rich in fatty acids, improves tissue repair
– Cranberry Seed Oil: Rich in antioxidants
– Papaya Fruit Extract: Papain, an enzymatic peel
– Tocophery Acetate: Vitamin E
– Bergamot water: Bergamot oil is quite moisturizing, I have no idea if the water has similar properties or if it is just in it for the smell…
– Alcohol denat.
– Fragrance: Derived from natural oils (Orange, Mandarin, Tangerine, Grapefruit)
Does it live up to its claims?
Yes, apart from the time claim.
It surely does everything it claims, while being very gentle on the skin. But in ten minutes? You just can´t get lasting results in ten minutes. Even surgery takes longer than that.
Will I rebuy?
I love my AHAs, and this mask is a boost of exfoliation while smelling delicious and being gentle on my skin.
I do wish they would find a substitute for the alcohol though.
Who do I recommend it to?
If you have pigmentation, fine lines and experience dullness, in short if you have aging skin, this should be among the products you reach for.
If you have irritated, acne-prone skin, this might help a lot (although salicylic acid should be your acid of choice).
If you would love to use AlphaH Liquid Gold
, but your skin is just too sensitive, this might work for you.
Only if you are very young without a skins concern or extremely sensitive to fragrances and alcohol I would suggest you stay clear.
Anyone tried this product before? If so, what did you experience?
And have you ever wondered what it would be like being a snake?
