Let me take you way back in time, when we had only one continent, mammoths would roam the fields of grass and I was a little girl just turned 13.
It was the night after a long and exhausting week at school (ha, little did I know!) and I had decided, all mature and grown up, that I would run a bath for relaxation. And because I was lacking the fancy salts and scented candles I had glimpsed on tv (I told you it was long ago), I grabbed the next best thing I had on hand. A tiny bottle of essential oil I used to diffuse in my oil burner.
If you have ever done anything similar, you know what is coming: Getting into the bath was the most horrible experience ever, because little me did not know that you can´t just use these oils in your bath and on your skin. You will have to treat them properly, or they will burn.
I have learned a lot since then (and not seen a mammoth in a while), and I have gone back to using essential oils in my skincare. But I will never forget how strong and irritant they can be.
Now here am I going with that little anecdote of mine? Well, the Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser I am going to review today contains quite a few essential oils, listed among “Favorite” or “Other” ingredients depending whether they do have an effect or simply smell nice. I did, however, also include them into the “Unfavorable” ingredients list, to warn people with sensitive skin. They can be powerful irritants!
I have to admit that there were times last month that I felt pretty overwhelmed. Life was very busy and hectic, and while it was all for great reasons, it was a little exhausting as well.
Soon after I uploaded my video on how to handle kids, a job and the blog (watch here if you haven´t already), I got promoted. Which is awesome and a great opportunity, but also a lot of work, given that I had to very quickly pick up a whole new topic.
So if I haven´t been around on social media as much as I used to (which wasn´t that much to begin with), that´s the explanation.
With summer waving it´s Goodbye and fall slowly approaching, it is time to take a step back and face your summer sins. And I am not talking the one too many Mojitos with the cute guy at the beach bar.
Honestly, I am not. I am a married mother of two, things like that are completely alien to me.
No, I am talking the sun and the salt and the late nights out that result in a lack of proper skincare. And way too little face masks. These are the sins you will need to address, now that seasons are changing.
Breakouts and hyper pigmentation or dry patches and dull skin, both are possible. But fear not, there is a cure for every sin. At least in skincare.
The Tata Harper Replenishing Nutrient Complex promises to tackle dryness and dullness, so let´s see how it performed.
