Taking out the trash III

Time to throw away my empties once again this year. And because I don’t believe in waiting for New Years Eve to start something new, I figured that would be the perfect opportunity to film my first ever YouTube video!

So if you want to see me „ahm“ and „äh“, struggle for words and get sad about Body Butter, click play or watch it here on YouTube.

A list of everything mentioned plus links to the reviews are below.

    • Ganz vielen lieben Dank, Honig.

  • Whaaaat, you said you weren’t asking for you when you asked me about my video editing software!! What a fun surprise 🙂 That The Body Shop cleansing butter is nice, I agree. I don’t plan on repurchasing it either though, but that’s just because it’s so overpriced here. And yeah, anything that stings the eyes is a no no for me too, no matter how good it is otherwise. As for the Fit Me concealer, I have not tried it yet, but I have tried the foundation from this range and that one I thought was really nice.

    • I wasn’t sure whether I was going to upload it when I asked you. I actually wasn’t sure until I hit publish, it feels so strange seeing yourself on the screen.
The FitMe foundation is one I have been meaning to try for quite some time now.

  • Kay (shoesandglitter)

Oh my gosh, Anne, when I saw that you uploaded your first YouTube video I was like whaaaaaat yayyyy! 😀 I’m stuck at work at the moment but I was so excited I just had to watch it (I had to be very sneaky, lol). Absolutely loved the video, you look gorgeous and radiant, and talk about all the products in so much depth! Can’t wait to see more videos. 🙂 You are really inspiring me to start my own YouTube!! x

    • Thank you, Kay. We had been talking about YT a while a go on your channel, and I figured I would give it a try, but it took me ages to finally get around to filming and editing. It is great fun once you get through the strange feeling of seeing yourself on a screen, so I highly recommend you do start soon.
I for one would love to watch!

  • Loved the video! And ive been using and loving most of the stuff you mentioned, we must have similar skin.
Looking forward to more YouTube! x

    • Thank you for your kind words. How would you describe your skin?

      • Im more oily combination and had irregular textured skin when i was younger, which Effaclar K solved quickly. Now im just trying to stay forever young :)) x

        • With an oily complexion, your chances are quite good 😉 But you are right, out skin sounds really similar.

    • Thank you Leta. It is a strange feeling to see yourself up on the screen, but it is great fun as well.

  • Congratulations on your first video! I was very excited when I saw you had uploaded, I like to somehow get to know better my favorite bloggers. You did great, a very chill and relaxed debut 🙂
I’ve been thinking of starting a YouTube channel too, but so far I’ve only done a lot of talking out loud about beauty products when there’s no one around, like a mad woman.
As for the products you mentioned, I’ve just started using Liquid Gold, but don’t really have an opinion yet. Hopefully I’ll like it as much as you do!

    • That was prompted me to start, sitting here talking to imaginary friends about eye cream. You just cant put everything on a blog.
So I figured before I risk my mental health by talking to the wall, I could as well talk to a camera. i just never realized that there is so much more that need attention, like lighting, background, angle of camera. I will try to find a better location for the next attempts.
And I would love to see you on YT as well!

  • I’m so glad that I have some time to visit blogs today and that I didn’t miss your first video. Congratulations! You are very pleasant to listen to. I have always been interested in the OGX shampoos and now that I know that you like the Coconut one, I’ll try it.

  • I want to try the Seroznic. I don’t have oily skin, but when I get a bit more glowy, I sometimes want to mattify it

Angie | Chocolate & Lipstick | Beauty, Fashion & Lifestyle Blog

    • I am not sure if it is the best mattifying product around, I guess that there are primers that work better, but fi you want something to incorporate in your skin care routine, this should work great.

  • It is good that you really use the products until they are empty. I mostly just get tired of ones and they keep lying in my vanity.
    GlamupGirls

    • I was the same, but it annoyed me to see them pile up and go to waste, so I promised myself I´d use them up before I buy new stuff. Doesn’t always work out, but I am getting better!

  • This is such a neat idea for a series! I love that you linked to your other reviews & it’s always neat to see the products. Congrats on your first video, as well! When I visited London a few years ago, was when I first saw the Micellar waters and got obsessed. It’s amazing they aren’t big over here in the states. I def want to give the Bioderma a go. The REN brand is phenomenal too! I’ve been eyeing that mask so I think I might get it when I get back in town after your review. I LOVE their Invisible Pores mask – if you are looking for one to add for the new year, that one is def worth a try. Have a great weekend, Anne! xx SS

    • I will add the Invisible pores mask to my skincare shopping list for 2016, that claim sounds promising!

  • Oh so cool that you started a You Tube channel, I subscribed! I want o go back to filming videos soon too, but it’s so time consuming 🙂 I’ve been wanting to try that REN Renewal Mask for a while now, so happy to hear that you like it!

    • It takes ages, but it is great fun. I hope you get back to filming soon.
The mask is really a recommendation, and it works great even on more sensitive/dry skin in my opinion.

  • First of all congratulations! Even though it is your first video, you made a great job so let’s hope there will be many more videos to watch from you 🙂 So you didn’t wear foundation in this video? If so then you have a flawless skin.

  • You’re one of the most natural person in front of the camera. I’ve seen many bloggers who are jumping into the YouTube world and a huge majority are super awkward in their first video but you’re the complete opposite, it’s like you’ve been doing it for years. My husband and I were watching you together (well, that sounded a little weird but you know what I meant, LOL!) and he said you don’t really have a strong German accent, it’s more noticeable in certain words but it’s barely there. I don’t have any criticism on the contrary, I think you did a brilliant job. The lighting can be better but most YouTubers have a professional lighting set up hence they have brightly lit videos. I look forward to your next video, Anne, I’ve subscribed too!

ps: It’s really brilliant that your readers get to watch and hear you! And you’re such a beauty!

Reflection of Sanity | Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Care Package Giveaway (Canada ONLY)

    • It took me many takes to look natural, I guess after the third time I just wanted to get it over without the door bell ringing or the camera not recording or all that stuff.
And many thanks to your husband, Mr. Loca did actually watch a few snippets as well, but he fast forwarded through most of it. I will try and figure out a better lighting setup and another background, there is so much I want to experiment with.
Thank you for your support and your encouraging words, they really mean the world to me, Shireen.

  • Nadia

Really great empties both post & the video! Can’t believe it’s your first video, you are a natural, Anne! 🙂
I’ve wanted to start YouTube for quite a bit but my only concern is I am quite camera-shy & would also be nervous not to overshare.
You did a fab job! Please do share the links to your videos in the future 🙂

    • Just record a video and see how it goes. that is what I did, no pressure and I felt like if it didn’t turn out as I liked (or at least came close), i´d just delete it and be done with it.

  • So nice to see you on YouTube! I admire your English!

    https://fannyanddailybeauty.wordpress.com/

    • Thank you. I will pass the praise to my godmother, who is actually British.

  • I hear so many people saying that about the SR eye cream. I want to try it but I think I’ll pass. I agree with you on the SR Ceramic Slip too. I can use it in the winter sparingly or if I’m moisturizing the crap out of myself morning and night but I’m so horrible about morning skincare. I miss the REN mask, I used it for years. Like from 2005 to 2010, it’s just too expensive to keep buying regularly! I haven’t tried it since my skin got a little drier in my mid 30’s so I’ll have to sample it again and see how it fares. Right now, I’m using Good Genes, Pixi Glow Tonic, and PTR Unwrinkle pads for my exfoliation which seems to be the right trio for me, when I use the PTR once a week and rotate the other two. Hardly any flakes or blemishes!

    • I have a bottle of Pixi Glow Tonic that I want to test, and the Good Genes is one of my all-time favorites, too. The REN mask isn’t that expensive here in Germany, at least not that I can remember, and it lasts me for ages. But if you haven’t tired it since 2010, sampling it is probably the best idea.

  • Oh you did a YouTube video! I love it! I’ve been toying with the idea of YouTubing a little, but I think I’m too shy for that. Love the empties post. I still want to try the Bioderma micellar. I’ve had it on my list for a while already.

    • I had been contemplating it for ages, so I figured I´d just try it and see if I enjoyed it. So far, it was a lot of work and a lot of fun.

So lovely to see you in a video and hear your voice! You did a great job, and well done on starting something new! Setting myself new goals is something I do quite a lot, no matter the time of year, but I do feel the excitement of a brand new year as a particularly good time to do it. In fact, I’ve been thinking about maybe giving YouTube a go myself next year. It’s something that scares me, but seeing you take the plunge is inspiring! x

    • Thank you, Kate. I feel like you would do great on YT, you have such a good eye for details and setting up a scenery, I would love to see you transport that to video form.

    • Quite a lot of people told me they had experienced the same thing after I posted my review here on the blog a while back. It seems to be more common than I thought.

    • Both are staples for me, but I am venturing into the depths of other Micellar waters soon, due to the recommendations of a few fellow bloggers. Let´s see what I think this time next year…

  • I’d struggle doing a video, as I don’t like the way that I sound on camera. It’s nice when you can have a good presence onscreen, So great job! I will have to look at some of the other reviews that I missed.

    • In my head I sound totally different too, but I have seen myself on the screen a lot for other reasons, so I kind of got used to that strange voice other people must hear. It is my looks that bother me more, but my husband tells me that is the way I actually look, so…
