Taking out the trash V – May Empties

Another month, another empties video. This time it is a little bit of everything: Makeup and skincare as well as hair and body care. Oh, and a perfume!

Taking out the trash V - May Empties
Taking out the trash V – May Empties

Not that I am going through all these products in one month, mind you, but I am making an effort to finish my stuff before using new one. And as I felt like I needed to stop rambling for ten minutes plus about my trash, I made different piles to film different videos in the time coming.

Yes, I sat there organizing my trash. And planning to use this trash in the upcoming months. This is either art or very disturbing. I will leave it to you to judge.

  • I laughed when you said ‚obviously‘ after explaining how your husband chose the scent based on its name alone! Your videos are nice to watch by the way, you have a calming voice (as strange as I’ve no doubt that sounds haha).

    • He should have gone for L´Imperatrice, that would have been appropriate!
And I have been told my voice is calming before, but at work. Or maybe it is all the yoga transitioning into my voice. Who knows?

  • Great vid Anne, Love the look of that body soufflé. I’m loving the humour in your videos recently you make me laugh with your little jokes. Have a lovely day. Gemma x

  • loved hearing your thoughts on these, and the baby sort-of cameo at the end! 😉

    • He just wouldn’t want to sleep through the video. Obviously he got upset at the empty perfume bottle.

  • I live for empties videos and posts! I consider myself really good at using up products, but I wish I could play those skills into my makeup collection. I get that makeup lasts you longer than say a bottle of shampoo, but I wish now and then something would find it’s way into my empties basket like a bottle of foundation or something? haha
    http://www.accordingtokiki.net

    • It is so hard to finish makeup! I have to tell myself not to have more than two foundations or two mascaras open at the same time, otherwise I would never finish anything. But finish an eyeshadow? A blush? I am not sure that will ever happen.

  • just came across your blog and i’m so happy i did! its so adorable and that video is awesome!! I cant wait to read more!

  • The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing oil definitely sounds like something I would love to try, right now I have way too many cleansers to use, but I’m sure I will end up trying it before the end of the year! I’ve always been intrigued by the Clarins Doux Exfoliant, it will be very interesting to do a blog post comparing it to the Pixi Glow Tonic!

    http://fannyanddailybeauty.com

    • Do you have a waiting list for skin care products as well? I swear, I have enough on my list to last me the next five years!

  • I haven’t finished anything lately other than my toners! I go through Pixi glow tonic every quarter and Fresh’s black tea one once a year. They got replaced and backups!

  • I loved this video, especially the baby gurgles in the background! xx

    Beautylymin

  • I like the fedora you’re rocking in the video! I recently received a sample size of the PIixi Glow Toner that I look forward to trying. I just finished the Farmacy New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains which is a product that my husband and I share.

    • Oh, I am excited to hear what you think about the Pixi Glow Tonic!

  • I vote option 1, that you’re a fashionista and you’re following a trend! 😉 Your videos are getting so good, Anne, your sense of humour is really coming through and I had a good chuckle watching this. Smelling like baby puke is not that bad…well, it’s easy for me to say it because I’m over that period. LOL!

ps: When I hear him cry in the blooper, I instantly went ‚awww…‘ and I bet you that I’m not the only one who did that. Haha!

    Shireen | Reflection of Sanity

    • When I asked my doctor how long they´d puke so much (Helena didn’t at all), she told me it should get less once they start walking. I almost dropped dead: That is another year to go!

      • William did too! And he stopped as soon as he stopped being on the bottle. And I forgot to add, I managed to score two small sample size of Pixi Glow Tonic, I hope I’ll like it.

  • Love reading posts like these. I really enjoy seeing what products people have been using up!

  • You look so lovely Anne! , your skin looks dewy and beautiful ♥_♥ !!

I have finish a few things this week, including my Estée Lauder ANR serum :'( which I can’t afford to replace (for now).

    • Oh no! I love the ANR, it is a staple in my routine. I got the 100 ml super size when traveling a year ago, so I hope it will last a little longer.

  • hehe I think because you are taking videos of the trash it becomes art, like a performance piece? 🙂

Also, you can rock a hat so it’s definitely because you’re a fashionista! I was tempted by a $5 felt hat with purchase yesterday when I was buying a gift for my bestie…should have got it so I’d have more than just the mum-bun for my go-to hairstyle on those ‚I didn’t wash my hair‘ days!

    Away From The Blue Blog

    • Hats are probably the only thing I own that qualifies as accessories.
And yes, I am a performance artist! I should add that to my CV.

  • thefashionsalt

Oh that last outtake sounded so cute! That green eyeliner with the gold flecks sounds amazing. And I love the hat, you definitely look like a fashionista, even if it is just to hide the unwashed hair 🙂

    http://www.thefashionsalt.com

  • I say you’re totally rocking the heck out of that hat! Also, I feel stupid, but I’ve totally been pronouncing like ALL of those brands wrong. Hah!

    • Well, maybe it is me that is pronouncing them wrong? I am not a native speaker, I guess I do make a lot of mistakes, especially with brand names…

  • Anne you’re videos are getting better each time! I can tell you’re changing things up. 🙂
I liked the TBS Cleansing Oil but I feel like it left a film over me each time so I’m not sure if I will repurchase it. But it is one of the few cleansing oils readily available off the shelf here.

    • I am experimenting still, but I think I am learning a little bit about videos. Just when I say that, I edit my last video and the lighting is off, but that are minor drawbacks I will ignore for now.

  • Mrs Fashionista, do you apply perfume to your hair? Sometimes when I am going out at night, I make sure to spray a little to my hair, mostly to ends. Camomile cleansing oil is one of the first oil makeup remover and it really does the job, I don’t mind the scent as long as it doesn’t linger around for ages.

    Ela BellaWorld

    • I apply perfume to the nape of my neck, that way it gets on my hair as well. That really helps with it lasting, and I like to think I smell good when I swoosh my hair. Which I rarely do these days, but it is the thought that counts, right?

  • I will go with option one.

    😉

Undercurrent is a good shade! Too bad it broke half way 🙁 The Oskia moisturizer really sounds amazing. Sounds like you’ve found your HG.

    • I did, I never thought I´d find a HG moisturizer, that is about my least favorite skincare item.

  • You look absolutely stunning in that video. Your sense of humour is amazing.

    http://www.mydailywear.co.uk

  • I loved TBS cleansing oil, it does a brilliant job of removing every speck of makeup for me, although I don’t think anything can quite beat my beloved oskia cleansing gel ♥
    tipscapsule.blogspot.com

    • I haven’t tried the Oskia one, but if you recommend it I will put it on the list.

When I saw that Givenchy bottle I was like YASSSS PERFUMES!!! 😀 😀 You know I’ve actually never tried that particular version myself… I have the original, and it is super unique – not something I’d wear everyday but I do love it. Need to get my hands on this one asap… Loving your hat btw, you look lovely as always! 🙂 <3

  • The rest of the products were fairly new to me except the Body Shop cleanser. I’ve had an eye makeup remover form their chamomile range and I really liked it 🙂 Although I don’t think I’ve ever disliked a Body Shop product….

  • I like the way you organise your ‚trash‘ lol…I’ve never really ended up with so many products that I need to use or try out, because I like to stick with the bare essentials and my skin doesn’t really like me experimenting which limits my choices in products..I should probably do a ‚whats in my makeup bag‘ post lol…

  • I finally got around to watching your video. I love that hat on you! That Oskia moisturizer sounds sooo good! And kudos to your hubby for picking a scent you actually ended up liking, perfume is such an individual thing.

    • He did that twice, I have another perfume he picked and bought all by himself two years ago. It used to be my „work scent“.

  • I love The Body Shop Chamomile cleansing oil. I need to repurchase it, as it’s the best at removing makeup easily and quickly. x
