Beauty Low Buy? Which Beauty Low Buy?

Now that did not go well. To be fair, I didn’t expect it to. It was my birthday month and I wanted to treat myself, and on top of that I needed to repurchase a few things.

Low Buy? What Low Buy?

And what better time to repurchase stuff then when you have gift cards and special birthday discounts? See, I was basically obliged to go shopping. I should probably rename this months Beauty Low Buy Update to “The Shopping Edit”

Makeup

After months of complaining about lacking a decent concealer, I now own two: The NARS Creamy Concealer in Chantilly for under my eyes and the Laura Mercier Secret Concealer in 1.5 for blemishes and hyperpigmentation. Repurchased in terms of makeup was the Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Bisque probably for the fourth time. Why I don’t have a review up already? I have no answer for that.

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm

Skincare

All three skin care items are repurchases here, and among my all time favorite, don’t want to live without products: The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm (Review), The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc (Review) and The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% (Review).

Perfume

Now that is a category you don’t see often on here, probably because I only ever use two scents: Biotherm Eau D´Energie in summer and Givenchy Angue ou Demon for the rest of the year. And as the latter was is empty, it was time to repurchase.

With all the special discounts and two gift cards it wasn´t as expensive as I thought it would be though.

Total amount of money spend in January? 101,53 €

The PR I received in February (Missing the pixie brushes. They were dirty)

Remember when I said I didn’t receive that much PR every month? Well, seems February was yet another exception, with two beautiful eyeshadow palettes and brush set by pixi arriving at my door step. (See my review with tutorial and swatches here) I am completely honest, I wouldn’t have bought the palettes myself, as I just prefer singles in my routine, but will count the retail price of one palette as “money saved” as I am reaching for Reflex Light a lot.

More products I wouldn’t have thought of purchasing, but really enjoy now that I received them through PR are the Emile Cordon lip balms (that do work on cheeks as well). Charlotte has been living in my handbag, so I will count it as money saved too.

Which means:

Total money saved because of PR in January? 87 €

Anything else?

Well, yes. I don’t usually do “What I got for my birthday” type posts, but after repeating time after time that Mr. Loca doesn’t care about beauty and never listens when I talk about it, he surprised me with a NuFace Trinity for my birthday.

I had been saving up to buy one of these face tools myself, so it only seems fair to count that money too.

Total money saved because of birthday? 361 €

I purposefully did not set a budget for my Beauty Low Buy (read the Beauty Low Buy rules here), and I didn’t track my expenses before, so I can´t compare them to this time last year.

But it is safe to say that this wasn’t exactly what I´d call a successful Beauty Low Buy month.

Oh well, next month it is back in the saddle!
