I had to look back to verify, but yes, this months Beauty Low Buy Year Update is the first in 2019 that features zero PR.

All the products that I am going to show you today are things I picked up myself, some because I needed them, others because I wanted them, but all things that I am genuinely excited about!

 

 

Oh, and if I say I didn’t need things, rest assured that I will still use them, it is just that I am at a point where I could probably build a decent routine out of what I have and it would carry me over to 2020. But decent is not perfect, and some new skincare releases had me intrigued, so into my shopping basket they went.

 

 

Repurchases

I will start with the things I repurchased though, both of which are by The Ordinary. One is a „kind of“ repurchase, which I will get to in a bit, but the one that is a recurrent favorite on here is The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (reviewed here) that works a charm at keeping my skin happy, hydrated and less oily. I have tried other Niacinamide ones in between, but this is what I keep coming back to!

The „kind of“ repurchase is The Ordinary Buffet + Copper Peptides 1%. I have used their „Buffet“ version for a long time now (read here), as I want peptides in my skin, but don’t want to spend much money on them, and I was excited to see they amped up the formula by adding Copper Peptides, which are among the best researched ones.

I have to add though that they did amp up the price as well, with 29,40 € this is the most expensive product I have seen from The Ordinary. But as peptides are an expensive ingredient, I hope it is still worth it.

Hair Care

I will continue with hair care, because it features another repurchase product: The Olaplex No 3. As you can tell just by one look at my roots in the video, I am not that light naturally. My hair color is kind of a dull blond that I like to lighten, but as my hairs texture is at the same time very fine, that takes a toll on my strands. Olaplex really helped me in reducing the damage done by bleaching, but as a person always pressed for time, the whole „wet your hair, apply No 3, let it sit for 20 minutes and then wash your hair“ routine wasn’t easy to fit in on a regular basis.

Because apparently I wasn’t the only one that felt that way, Olaplex released a shampoo and conditioner, No 4 and No 5, designed for regular use. It is too early to give you a valid opinion, but for my fine hair friends a word of warning: These products are rich, if I use them every time I wash my hair, they weigh it down quite a bit!

Purchasing all three set me back 77,97 €

 

 

New in from The Inkey List

It is no secret that I am a huge fan of The Inkey List, and with a plethora of new releases happening on their site, I couldn’t pass the opportunity to get my hands on a few of them.

The first one I picked was the Brighten-I Eye Cream – the Caffeine Eye Serum is one of my desert island products, and this one even has a cool(ing) metal applicator. First impressions are it is richer than the Caffeine one, and for me better suited for night time use, but I will keep testing and report back.

The second one I grabbed was The Inkey List Oil and Water Double Cleanser, because you can never have enough cleansers (*cough*) and I really wanted to know what this one felt like. With my order arriving at the beginning of October, I already used it enough to make up my mind – full review coming your way soon, so no spoilers here!

 

 

Another thing that I think you can never have enough of is ingredients that repair your skins barrier, like ceramides. With winter fast approaching and me being back on prescription retinoids, I grabbed The Inkey List Ceramide Overnight Treatment, which features a mixture of different types of Ceramides – I need to use it a little longer to make up my mind, but so far I enjoy it.

The last one I bought purely because Dorota from BDQBlog kept on raving about it. Her skin is completely different to mine, but after reading the „soothing and repairing“ claims of The Inkey List Snow Mushroom on the website, I figured it could work for me as well. Again, I haven’t used it long enough to give you a final statement, but it feels very lightweight, yet hydrating.

If only I could say that this will be my last purchase from their website for a while, but I just went back to check pricing and already had three new things catch my eye – another feature of The Inkey List in my Low Buy Update for November isn’t entirely impossible it seems.

Now if I combine all these products, I end up with 51,80 €.

 

Which makes a total amount of money spend for beauty of 166,16 €!
