Changes – Not my typical blogpost

As the title gives away, I am here to talk about changes.

Necessary changes, that I briefly mentioned here already and that are based on the changes my life has gone through.

How many times can I say changes in the first paragraph?

The Baltic Sea in winter

Many of you will know already, I had my second child this month. And if you have children yourself (or know someone who has and suddenly disappeared completely), you will know how little time is suddenly left in your day for all the things you used to do before.

Like, sleep.

So for the time coming, there will be changes to my blogging and You Tube schedule.

Don’t worry, I will not disappear completely. At least I hope I won’t. I just need to reduce the amount of blogposts I do, based on the fact that I will not be able to write as much.

And based on the fact that I will not use as much makeup as I used to, at least in the first weeks.

So starting from today, these are my new content days:

Monday and Thursday 9 am. Thursdays will feature the new You Tube video and all the necessary background information, the video itself will go up on Wednesday late afternoon.

Let´s see how that works out…

  • You did mention it before and I believe two blog posts a week is still a pretty decent schedule, especially as makeup isn’t really your priority at the moment!

  • Sleep is definitely higher priority right now!

Take your time and don’t over-extend yourself blog wise, relax and enjoy the crazy newborn days as they are full of cuddles and snuggles to make up for the sleep deprivation! 🙂 It’s good you’re able to scale back your posts a little and relieve some of the pressures of blogging 🙂

    Away From The Blue Blog

    • Great thing I use a laptop and can type away with the baby sleeping in my arms…

      • haha yes it’s easy in the newborn days to grab a little time near a computer during snuggles! 🙂

  • It is understandable that with the newborn things are changing (sleepless nights are the worst), just don’t put so much stress on yourself and focus on relaxing. I hope everything is going good with the newborn and the egg hunt 🙂

    • The egg hunt went great, but now I have a two year old high on sugar to deal with…

      • Just make her run around so she gets so tired that she wants to sleep straight away!

        • I have her running outside four hours a day even without the sugar. Trust me, she is a very energetic little girl…

  • I’m wishing you the best, my friend! Two blog updates a week is certainly nothing to sneeze at when you consider all that you have on your plate already. Please be well. <3

    • I am, thank you. And I feel I can handle two a week, but if not, I will reduce even further.

  • keep up the great work darling. Check out my giveaway worth £150!

  • I hope you are feeling better and yes, your new schedule is pretty decent. Happy days to you! 🙂

  • Good luck with your new schedule! I’m sure no one would hold it against you for the odd disappearance – babies are a lot of work! AND you’ve got a toddler, haha 😉

  • Hey Anne! This is such a precious time for you and the baby 🙂 I hope you enjoy it and cherish it! Don’t worry about the blog we’ll wait for you to come back in full form! 🙂

    • We are enjoying a lot of cuddles, both throughout the day and the night. Up in mamas arm is his favorite place to sleep, it seems.

      • Aww :* So cute! Put up pictures if you feel comfortable! 🙂

        • I won’t. We decided when our daughter was born that both should decide for themselves when they are old enough if they want to be online, so there arent any pictures even on our private Facebook.

          • Good on you for doing that.

  • Don’t sweat it, take all the time you need!

  • Days and times noted down! 😉

  • Congratulations! The coming of a baby is such a special moment, so you don’t need to worry about blogging – readers know that you have to enjoy the moment and take all the time you need! I’m glad everything is going well, hope you get to rest once in a while though 😉

    • They say sleep when the baby sleeps, but sadly he and my 2 year old don’t really coordinate nap time quite yet…

  • David Bowie isn’t a bad thing to think about, I’ll take that.

  • I’m glad to hear you won’t disappear completely but it’s totally understandable that you need to adjust your schedule based on your new arrival. Hope you’re enjoying your time with both your little ones cause in the grand scheme of things, that’s what matters the most 🙂

    • I am, thank you Rowena. It is exhausting, but very rewarding at the same time.

  • Congratulations! it’s completely understandable that everything, including your priorities, changes once you have a baby.

Take as much time as you need to fully enjoy the motherhood and spend time with the little one.

  • I hope, pray that you won’t disappear completely, Anne, I love you and your presence here in the blogsphere. That being said, I completely understand the need to change your blogging your schedule. I can’t imagine how busy you are with two little ones, busy but happy. xx

    Shireen | Reflection of Sanity

    • I don’t think I will disappear completely. You above all will understand that the blog is much needed for staying sane…

  • I completely get it! Exciting new times 😀

  • Of course we all understand that as a new mom you can’t spend as much time on your blog anymore, at least not for a while! Whether you post every day or just once or twice a week, we’re not going anywhere.

    • Thank you, Melissa. I guess I need the schedule for me more than for you, being the control freak I am.

  • Good luck, Anne! I totally understand! Life is forever changed for us parents! Heehee. I remember it was a struggle for me, too, to blog when our baby arrived in early 2012. I came back in blogging completely with a new domain in 2014. But I wish I can post everyday but that would be impossible. All the best!

    • I couldn’t post every day even without children, my blog posts are way too long and ramble for that. Maybe every other day, but only if I was a full time blogger, which I don’t see happening.

  • I really enjoy reading your posts so twice a week is brilliant & means you won’t disappear completely! xx

    • At least I hope I won’t. Joking aside, I would miss blogging a lot. I started the blog when I had my first child to keep a little bit of myself alive in the changes (ha, again!) you go through when becoming a mother.

  • good luck with your new schedule. i don’t see how you do it at all! you rock!

    • You are the one working and posting everyday, I honestly cant see how you manage to do everything you do.

  • thefashionsalt

I completely understand, not from my own experience, but from watching others. And I’m surprised that you would be posting at all, but I’m so glad because I really enjoy reading your posts.

    • To be honest, I would go insane if I didnt have the blog. It gives me the feeling of accomplishing something other than just feeding and changing diapers. I have always been very ambitious, and even though I am eternally grateful to have the opportunity to stay at home the first year and spend time with my children, I need something in my life that isn’t mom-related. At least not exclusively.

  • Props to you, you literally do it all! Don’t know how you do it! Hope the new schedule works out for you and hope you are doing well!

  • Ok! I feel so stupid now, because I totally miss 2/3 of your posts regularly and I only now find out about this (I need to rethink the way I follow the blogs I read, they’re starting to be too many)! Congratulation on the new member of the family! I imagine how tired you must feel on this first month after giving birth, it is the hardest part I think.
Changes are good and establishing a routine/scheduled for blogging could be a good thing, or not…
I remember I announced I was taking a „indefinite break“ from blogging when my second one was born (in my mind that was up to 3 or 4 months) in reality after little more than two weeks I was writing again. Simply because I was so tired and devastated not finding out what was wrong with a child that cries and cries without reason, that I totally needed to do something that gave me a little pleasure. Makeup, writing, a bit of creativity and exchanging with other people (at least virtually), that was all in one with blogging. But I started without schedules, or timing, because I had enough pressure in my life. So, if one day I didn’t feel like rushing to post, I left it for the next day, and so on. Take it easy with blogging! You already have enough with the children 🙂

    • This schedule is already quite low key compared to my previous one, so I guess I can handle it. And just like you said I need the creativity and exchange to feel like myself when your whole life is centered around the wants and needs of someone else, as cute and lovable as he might be.

  • And now that song is running through my head… ch ch changessss lol. I feel you. I had to do the same many moons ago after having my son. Lucky me he was also colicky so I got no sleep whatsoever! It can be stressful at times. Just remember to take some time for YOU.

    • As it is the second one I know it is going to get better, so I am counting down the days until he is three months… Three weeks down, only nine more to go *sigh*

  • Congratulations lovely! Make sure to take as much time as you need to enjoy your new little family member – I don’t know how you do it all, you wonder woman. xx

    • we are spending lots of time cuddling on the sofa, so when he is napping in my arms it is the perfect opportunity to catch up with blogging.

  • I think it’s great that you are doing what you can but still here so that we can enjoy it but also you can carry on doing what you enjoy!

  • I think that being a blogger makes you more flexible, and since it is your blog, you can do whatever you want… I know that audience can be demanding at times 😀 but I’m sure no one will mind, really 🙂 I’m actually surprised at how often you are still going to post 🙂 You go, girl! x

    • At the moment I am spending very much time stuck at home anyway…

  • Don’t worry ! it s fine ! congratulation again !!
    take care xx

  • Take your time. Having kids, whether one, two or more, especially with a new baby making you a new mommy, can be very hard. Take a break if you need, doll!

    • I will. I needed to post a reduced schedule to force me to take more time for myself, to be honest.

  • Liebe Linda, 2 Posts die Woche sind auch nicht wenig! Du bist da eh total fleißig! Genieße die Zeit mit deiner Familie! Liebe Grüße & ein schönes WE! Ivi

  • Well done for being able to blog and make videos at all with a newborn – I’d be exhausted! Don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere if you need a break 🙂
