Favorite Face of … October

If you are not familiar with the “Favorite Face of …” series, click here for a little introduction. Short story even shorter, it is the makeup that I wore most during that month, featuring the favorite (as in most used) makeup products.

Many of you will know by now that I am usually not wearing much makeup when working. But as I am home at the moment (read here why), I was able to go all out and enjoy fall makeup at its finest.

A dark brown-purple smokey eye, paired with bold lips and flushed cheeks was pretty much what I opted for most days.

Before I talk you through the products I used, here is a close up of the eyes.

And another one closed, so you can see the placement of the colors a little better. Sadly, the colors I chose don’t blend too well, and close up it looks a little patchy.

1. Products used for my face:
I got MACs Studio Waterweight Foundation in NC 15 around mid-october and have been putting it to the test quite thoroughly. The finish is pretty dewy, so I powder my t-zone after application, using Maybelline “Mattemaker” in the color “Light Beige” (Review here).
The finish is medium at most, and with my skin acting up lately (pregnancy hormones!) I need a dedicated concealer to cover dark circles and blemishes. Maybellines “The Eraser” is what I reached for most.
To achieve the “flushed cheeks” look that is all the rage right now, I opted for MaxFactors Pastell Compact Blush in “Seductive Pink”, a pretty pink with just the right amount of shimmer.

2. Products used on my eyes:
Despite repeating my preference for mono eyeshadows whenever I can, I do own some palettes. Most of them were gifts, just like the Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 3. It is said to be a dupe for the Naked 3 palette (which I cant tell, because I don’t own any Naked palettes) and I have been using it frequently throughout this month. To be honest, I am not that impressed with the shadow quality, but I will have a more in-depth review up on the blog soon.
As the shadows themselves transfer pretty sheer, I enhanced them by using MaxFactors Color Precision Eyeshadow in “Coffee” as a base (Review here), dabbed the dark glittery purple shade on the far right on my mobile lid and blended everything out using the fourth shade from the left, a matte brownish purple.
On my upper and lower lash line went a MAC Gel Liner in “Macroviolet”, all finished up by several coats of Revlons Photoready 3D Volume Mascara in “Black” (Review here).

3. Products used on my lips:
My lip color is custom made by mixing the Manhattan X-treme last lip liner in the color 46 N, a violet berry with the Manhattan X-treme last & shine lipstick in the color 54 V, a brick red.
I bought the two of them together a while ago, as they seemed to be the exact same color, but discovered at home they were totally different.
Worn together they create the reddish berry I enjoy a lot this time of year.

How do you like my purple based look?

Is this something you would wear on a daily basis?
