Favorite Face of … Travel

If you are not familiar with the “Favorite Face of …” series, click here for a little introduction. Short story even shorter, it is the makeup that I wore most during that month, featuring the favorite (as in most used) makeup products.

After a short break during January and February, where I showed you my travel picks for makeup (here) and skincare (here), this series is back in full force, starting with the look I wore most during my road trip through New Zealand.

Casually chewing on my sunglasses, as you do

You have to keep in mind that down there, it was actually summer.
Summer as in SUMMER, with beaches and ocean and sleeveless shirts.
Summer as in crack out the corals and the color.

If this looks slightly familiar, you have seen me do something similar in the February edition of “Inspired by … Lancome French Innocence”.
The color combination, though scary at first, stuck in my mind, and I must have picked similar shades when packing completely without purpose.

But without further ado: The pictures!

Close-up of my eyes

Focus of this look were the eyes.
After correcting my dark circles and doing my brows, I used a Paint Pot as eyeshadow base, applied KIKO 219 all over my lid and blended some TBS Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in the crease.
A very thin line of my trusty L´Oréal Super Liner in “Black” on the upper lash line, several coats of Artdeco Ultra Effect Mascara on my upper lashes and to get that pop of color, MACs Pearlglide Intense eyeliner in “Undercurrent” on the outer third of my upper and lower lash line, smudged in with my fingers.

Sorry if this picture is blurry, my camera is broken and I have to improvise…

Products used on my eyes:
– MACs Pro Conceal and Correct Palette in “Light” (review here)
– MAC Paint Pot in “Painterly”
– KIKO Longlasting Wet& Dry Eyeshadow in 219 (swatched here)
– The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 02 (review here)
– L´Oréal Super Liner in “Black” (Review here)

– MAC Pearlglide Intense eyeliner in “Undercurrent” (review will be done someday)

Close-up of the lips

Because the eyes were quite intense, I tried to keep the rest of the face summery, but simple.
Laura Merciers Tinted Moisturizer as a base, a little powder through my T-Zone and the aforementioned bronzer instead of blush were all I used for complexion enhancement.
To keep the lips glossy and moisturized, but without drawing attention from the eyes, a subtle hint of peach was what I went for.

Another blurry one. I promise they looked fine in the viewfinder!

Products used on face and lips:
– Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer in “Nude” (review here)
– Maybelline Matte Maker Face Powder in “Light Beige” (review here)

Just recreating this look for the pictures makes me miss New Zealand already!
