Inspired by … Giorgio Armani Luxe is More Collection Holiday 2015

If you are not familiar with the “Inspired by…” series, click here for an explanation.
But short story even shorter, each month I choose a seasonal ad and try to recreate the models look with colors I already own.
Dressing up and awkward posing included!

As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to recreate the “Giorgio Armani Luxe is More” makeup in December. It may not be the most exotic look I have ever seen, but everything about it seems very glamorous and very “me”.

Velvet skin, a soft smokey eye and a deep red lip… perfect for Christmas!

Let´s see if I succeeded to come close, given my less than modelesque features and the lack of Photopshop…

Even attempting the sultry “over the shoulder” glance!

Trying to be sultry. And hide my pregnancy induced double chin.

Here is what I did.

Flawless, radiant skin with a velvet finish? A lot of products were needed to even come close! To mimic the luminosity of the center of the face, I started by applying a layer of MAC NW 10 concealer from MACs Pro Conceal and Correct Palette in “Light” (Review here). This Concealer is way lighter than my face, so it worked as a non-shimmery highlight.

On top of that I applied a layer of MAC Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation in NC 15 (Review here). As that one is only light to medium coverage, I went back in with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in “Fair” to hide hyper pigmentation and spots and finally set everything with a generous amount of the Clarins Loose Powder in “Translucent”.

The powder really gave a beautiful velvet finish, so I topped it up with a little bit of Me, Me, Me Beat the Blues liquid highlighter in “Sunbeam” on my cheekbones and the base was done.

The eyes were fairly easy. I applied a silvery-gray eyeshadow all over the mobile lid and blended it out using the “lid” shade from the Revlon Eyeshadow Palette in “Impressionist” (Review here) a little further up than my crease.

I then smudged a black pencil eyeliner along the upper and lower waterline (mine is from Maybelline, but so rubbed off I cant tell you the exact name) and used a push liner brush to drag it out on the outer and inner corners.

A coating of Clinique High Impact mascara in “Black” (Review here). Perfect, as the lashes on the model were looking pretty natural.

Yes, the Manhattan X-treme Last & Shine lipstick in 54 V again! I am well aware that I have used it in the last two looks already, but the color is just so versatile.

To get a more brown tone, I used the MAC lip pencil in “Draw me close” all over my lips and applied the lipstick on top with a lip brush. As you can easily see in the pictures above, I am useless at staying inside the lines when coloring, so please excuse the slightly smudged upper lip…

Final thoughts? A look that I will most likely wear a lot, but with a much lighter base. The skin may appear flawless, but I prefer less product on my face.

Is this a look you´d like?

Have you decided on what to wear for Christmas already? That one might very well be the one I will rock on Christmas Eve.
