MV Organic Skincare Pure Jojoba – Not in my bathroom

I like luxury skincare, that is no secret. But I don´t like using high end just for the sake of it. If there is a drugstore item that does the job at half the price just as good, I am going to use that one.

Sometimes though there are products that can be easily duped for their main purpose, but are unique when used for something else. Like the MV Organic Skincare Pure Jojoba. I got it as a gift with purchase, used it as I saw fit and later read the instructions on the homepage.

Where they actually recommend it as eye makeup remover.

A 45 $ eye makeup remover? Not in my bathroom!

I´ll stick with using it differently, thank you very much.

What MV Organic skincare claims

This is Emma Watson’s red carpet essential. An eye-care all-rounder, MV’s Pure Jojoba removes eye make-up and mascara and strengthens lashes whilst conditioning and hydrating the skin in this delicate area. Fantastically versatile, jojoba can be used under any moisturiser to calm reactive skins including eczema and rosacea. Similar to the skins own sebum, this fast absorbing salve softens and protects without clogging.

The oil

Facts

Prize and size

One bottle contains 35 ml and retails for 45 $ on the website here. You really only need 2 to 3 drops for your whole face, so 35 ml will last you forever.

Texture and smell

Runny, golden, lightweight. The scent is nutty, but barely detectable.

Application and effects

I apply three drops to the palm of my hand, and press the oil into my skin as a last step in my routine. It absorbs instantly, leaving my face hydrated and plump without adding to any oiliness. During the colder season I could even use it in the mornings before makeup application to protect my skin from harsh weather.

Ingredients

That is an easy one:

  • Jojoba Seed Oil: Emollient, moisturizing, lightweight, controls sebum production

As the name Pure Jojoba would suggest, it is just that. Nothing else.

Does it live up to its claims?

Yes.

Though I am curious to know what Emma Watson uses it on the red carpet for. Preparation beforehand or makeup removal afterwards.

Would I repurchase?

No.

I love the product, I really do, but I can get jojoba oil at my local oil store for a fraction of the price. Yes, pure and organic as well.

Who do I recommend it to?

Oily skin, dehydrated skin, acne prone skin, as it will moisturize without breaking you out and never feel.

Dry skin will probably find that not rich enough on ist own.
