We all know I love trying new skincare brands, so when I got the opportunity to work with the German skincare brand “My One” by Dr. Klein on the release of their new My One 24 h Anti-Aging System, I jumped at the chance.

This blog post will give you an overview over the products, prices and claims, it is not an in-depth review as I only used them a little over a week, surely not long enough to comment on any long term benefits. Full reviews will follow eventually.

If anyone is tempted to join me in trying the My One System, there will be a giveaway at the bottom of the post, offering you the chance to get your hands on a set of your own.

If you want to see the products in action, please refer to the video linked below.

About the brand

My One offers skincare aimed at aging skin. By providing multilevel hydration with their Hyalural-Complex and protection against pollution premature aging should be prevented.

The packaging, all products packed in an air tight pump, allows them to avoid preservatives. There is also no added fragrance or perfume, which makes the skin care great for people sensitive to that.

My One is certainly very expensive, prices are at the same level as for example La Mer products.

To get the most out of your skincare, you are advised to use all products from the line as each product works hand in hand with the next one, explaining why they call it a 24h Anti-Aging System.

My One Cream Gel
My One Cream Gel

My One Cream Gel (100 ml for 75 €)

My One offers three different cleansers, each aimed at a different skin type: dry/sensitive, normal and oily.

I was sent the My One Cream Gel for normal skin. The cleanser has a creamy consistency and is yellow in color. It smells faintly of the added Chamomille Extract. Upon application it feels like a cream, but emulsifies when in contact with water. Probably due to the added Shea Butter I felt the need to use a wash cloth after rinsing my face.

It will not remove your eye makeup completely, but leaves the skin feeling nourished without being stripped. The added Hops Extract acts anti-inflammatory while Safflower Seed Oil offers linoleum acid and Zinc PCA helps to combat hyperpigmentation.

My One Day Serum
My One Day Serum

My One Day Serum (30 ml for 241 €)

This serum is meant to protect your skin throughout the day and offer multilevel hydration through the above mentioned Hyalural-Complex, which to my understanding is a mixture of different molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid and added Phytoplankton, an ingredient that has created quite a buzz a few years back. Planktonextract acts as a humectant, that much is sure, and depending on the source you quote offers several other benefits, all of which are yet to be proven.

The serum itself is yellow in tint, has a kind of earthy scent and sinks into my skin quickly without feeling sticky or leaving a residue. I experienced no issues when pairing it with other products. Depending on your skin type you can either use it as serum (dry skin) or as lightweight moisturizer.

Alongside the Hyalural-Compley it contains Squalane, Vitamin E, Green Tea Extract as antioxidant, Sunflower Seed Oil for fatty acids and Panthenol to soothe and hydrate the skin.

My One Eye Serum (15 ml for 214 €)

The fast uplifting for the eye area it is called and can be used both morning and night.

Like all products I am mentioning here it is yellow in color, again with a very light and earthy scent. It sinks in quickly, leaves no tackiness or residue and sits well under makeup.

The ingredient list in this one is identical to the My One Day Serum with the exception that the My One Eye Serum is missing the Green Tea Extract.

My One Night Cream
My One Night Cream

My One Night Cream (50 ml for 252 €)

The last product in the line, the night cream. It claims to combat fine lines and wrinkles, provide antioxidants against free radical damage and even out hyperpigmentation when used regularly.

Again a yellow product, again with an earthy scent, but a little heavier than the ones mentioned before. It is oil-based, but the choice of oils (Jojoba, Squalane) makes it suitable for my combination skin.

In addition to the Hyalural-Complex it contains Tomato Seed Oil for Lycopene (an antioxidant) and Mulberry Bark Extract. Mulberry Bark Extract claims to inhibit Tyrosinase, and important step in Melanin synthesis, and thus help with hyperpigmentation. I was a little surprised to see no Vitamin C or Niacinamide in the formula, something I have come to expect in products that want to combat hyperpigmentation.

This is the only product that contains alcohol, though at the very end of the ingredient list.

My thoughts

Lets address the elephant in the room first: the price. 75 € for a cleanser is not unheard of, but every other product is way more expensive than I am usually willing to pay. And way more expensive than the average woman can afford to pay.

So are they worth the price?

That depends. While the ingredient list on one hand isn’t that special that I would happily spend that much, the packaging might be.

And by packaging I am not talking design, but the containers themselves, allowing the product to be formulated entirely without preservatives and without the need to be kept in the fridge.

If you suffer from sensitive skin, a skincare line that is free from fragrance and preservatives might be totally worth investing in.

Do you need just them?

I don’t think so. Especially more mature skin would benefit from acids, retinol and Vitamin C, all of which the My One System doesn’t offer, so you would need additional products if you are serious.

All of the above mentioned play nicely with the My One 24h Anti-Aging System though, I tried that.

Bottom line: I don’t think I will repurchase any of the products here, given that my skin isn’t sensitive and I don’t try to avoid fragrance and preservatives. All products are very nice to use though, so if being fragrance and preservative free is very high on your list, they might be what you are looking for.
