Spring Summer Trends 2016

With March halfway over, we are finally moving into Spring territory, and I for one am all excited about it.

As much as I love my purples and my brown smokey eyes, with the days finally getting longer and the trees showing some fresh green, it was time to dust off other colors and see what will be big in the upcoming seasons.

Some trends have been around for quite some time now, some  are new additions, but the variety is big and I am sure that there will be something for everyone.

So let´s dive straight into it, shall we?

Color on the eyes

Yes, metallics and bronze is here to stay, and to be honest I wouldn’t want to go all summer long without them, but vibrant colors like green and blue take the spotlight this season. If you want to venture out even more, yellow paired with purple will help you transition from winter to spring.

That may be all over the lid or as (graphic) liner, as long as it is bold, you are right on trend.

My take on it:

Blue and green aren’t colors I usually gravitate to, I think I will try and be little more adventurous this time around. As far as yellow goes though… I don’t think so! But if you want a lovely inspiration, created by a fellow blogger, here is Natasjas (Eyes painted black) lovely dolphin inspired look!

Eyeliner – the 90s way

Graphic liner was big last season, and it ain´t going nowhere, but just like Kylie Jenner brought the brown, matte 90s lip back, the smudged, grungy version Kate Moss once upon a time will be making an appearance. In true 90s style, the whole eye is lined and when it looks like you slept in it, you have done it just right.

My take on it:

I love black liner, and I wear eyeliner everyday. But I rarely line the whole eye, I feel like it makes my eyes appear smaller. Maybe it will grow on me?

Glowy skin/Strobing

Yes. Still.

Don’t put away your highlighters just yet, you will get good use out of them for the time to come. Call it strobing, glow or dewy, the trend is healthy, luminous skin.

My take on it:

I havent gotten on board with this trend and I don’t think I ever completely will. I like it on others, but on myself? Velvet is the finish I usually go for. But I do own a foundation that works perfect for this trend, as you can see in the picture below. (Read here)

Flushed cheeks

Tying in with the whole natural and glowy theme, the flushed cheeks that have been around all winter will stay for the warmer months.

My take on it:

I have been enjoying this trend very much, and will gladly continue come spring and summer. Cream blushes like the one I am wearing below (MAC Cream&Lip Color in “P.S. I like you”, review here) or “glow-giver” like the Hourglass blushes and my personal favorite, the Max Factor Cream Puff blush (read here) are your safe bet for this trend.
