It doesn´t happen that often these days that I need to watch a tutorial on how to apply a skincare product. I mean, not to tout my own horn here, but there isn´t much in terms of skincare that I am unfamiliar with.
I have experimented with acids and retinol, used multitasking as well as elaborate 10 step routines, but I admit I was a little at loss when I got the Avon Anew Instant Eye Smoother.
The first confusion: What is it? Skincare or rather a makeup item?
Then, shortly after: How am I supposed to use it?
Good thing that there is a handy little video on their website (as well as shockingly good results in the before and after pictures, but we will get to that later.)
So, let´s talk about the Avon Anew Instant Eye Smoother!

Mascara reviews. I haven’t done them in a while. In fact, the last one I did was on IGTV (Anyone remember that platform? It seems only brands upload teasers of their new releases there anymore.)
Kind of strange, when you think of it, as mascara is the makeup item I use every day and is the one that I replace most frequently. I might not be worried too much about expiration dates in my other face paint, but as a contact lens wearer mascara that has been open too long makes me uneasy – ain´t nobody got time for an eye infection!
If I am honest, the only reason is that I find mascara pictures incredibly hard to take. No matter how long I try, study the angles and admire the pristine pictures on other blogs, my attempts turn out dark, blurry or odd. Time to get practicing, I guess, so I can share more mascara reviews with you in the time to come!

If something promises to bring the salon experience to my home, all I can do is laugh. Seriously, no matter how excellent the product itself might be, it will never offer a salon experience.
I mean, the salon experience isn´t about the products anyway, is it? At least not for me! I don´t care what they use to wash my hair, as long as I get to sit there, read a magazine, sip on a cup of tea and don´t have to get up and look after tiny little humans.
Oh, and then the head massage! Use olive oil, I wouldn´t care, as long as you give me a proper head massage!
It is at home where the actual product counts – without the tea, without the massage, without having five minutes to myself!
So lets see how the Avon Advance Techniques Instant Restore haircare line performed.

I love testing new products (I know, I know, what else is new?), but there is one thing that I enjoy even more.
Testing new lines of products. Something about the matching packaging, the matching claims, the feeling that I am entering a whole new planet of skincare instead of just a small part – it never gets old.
Even though I admit that very rarely a whole line of new skincare convinces me enough to make it into my permanent stash. That is usually reserved to a selected few (like the Instytutum eyecream here).
The latest line I got my hands on? Avon Anew Perfect Skin *
