November is done and dusted, and tomorrow will be the day I get the boxes with Christmas decoration from the basement and start randomly putting them on available surface spots.
Not kidding here, I am a lost cause when it comes to decorating, no matter how much Inspiration Boards I have on Pinterest.
But I am making an effort, for the kids mostly, as I want them to embrace the spirit of the season.
While we get all festive here, why not take the time and browse through my most recent blogposts, just in case you missed some? And if you did, consider subscribing to my Newsletter here, which I will actually send out once more than me and my mother are subscribed.
I know that having an actual mailing list is uber important for blogs, but given that we share a house I don´t think my mother needs my updates electronically.

October was the month that autumn well and truly arrived in Germany. Up until October 19th it was warm enough to leave the house without a jacket, even in the evenings, something that I only realized when on that day, October 19th, I actually felt a chill walking back to the car with Mr. Loca at 10 pm. Now Germany is not a cold country, but that was unusual.
As it was to be expected, the period of sunny, but chilly weather that makes you take contemplative walks and kick up the colorful leaves didn´t last long either. By the time I write this it is grey and miserable outside, rain drizzling down on what is no longer colorful, but mostly rotten foliage.
Perfect to stay in and have a good old blog read, am I right? Here is what I wrote about last month.

I actually wanted to try Huda Beauty a while ago, when they released their Faux Filter Foundation (that still sits on my list of things to try). But when I went to get color matched, the Sephora sales person in Berlin was that rude and unhelpful I decided not to spend any money there and just leave the store.
That put me off the brand a little, but when I received the Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions Palette as a GWP, I figured it was a sign to let go of that grudge and get testing.
To keep things short and sweet I filmed a review and tutorial for one look, but added pictures of two other makeup looks at the end, along with where I used which shade – Do let me know if you prefer it this way or want step by step tutorials on all looks next time.
Times are busy, and I feel like they get busier every day. Catching up with my favorite blogs daily is something I haven´t been able to do in a long while, and as I figured you are probably in the same boat, I decided to introduce the Monthly Recap series.
It is meant to be an overview of all the blog posts I have written, all the videos I have uploaded and a few extra informations thrown in for good measure. To make it easier to find what you are interested in I split it in three categories: Skincare, Makeup and Lifestyle.
Looking back at August for me means looking back at my annual holiday in France, two weeks filled with sun, sea and (probably too many) croissants. I decided against vlogging (it would just have been me eating all the time), but put up a France 2018 Highlight on my Instagram Profile should you be in the mood for some snaps.

While I was trying to write this introduction, I got sucked in to the black hole that is “The Ordinary Drama” time lines. As much as I claim I don´t care for drama online (and believe me, I don´t) it seems like once you start reading, you simply can´t stop.
So much has happened since I shared my initial thoughts here, and it leaves me incredibly confused.
So how do I proceed? I guess I will continue with what I do best and focus on the product at hand, the The Ordinary Coverage foundation and no longer think about the time wasted following link after link in an attempt to make sense to what ultimately may not have one.

I think it is well established by now that I don’t have much of a social life. But I do remember a time when I had, a life when a spontaneous invitation for after work drinks or even a date could happen.
And I remember how hard it was to look fresh and glammed up with a ten hours work day under your belt.
I watched countless day to night makeup tutorials on You tube, but I admit that in reality I rarely had the time for the complicated makeover some suggested nor the products with me that were apparently needed.
Because, lets be honest, if I were to go home in between work and my date, I´d do my makeup again from scratch. With a little practice anyone can do a glam look in less than ten minutes. (Don´t believe me? Here and here are some examples.)

I know many a blogger out there started their blog to justify a spending habit that is borderline hoarding. And I am no exception! “I want to write about it!” is a common excuse when yet another red lipstick makes its way into my basket. (But then again, who blogs about a single lipstick anymore? I´ll buy the whole line!)
Mr. Loca has long learned not to question the sheer amount of parcels appearing on our doorstep.
And while I am very good at actually finishing stuff (proof are my empties videos) and my shopping is much more mindful, I am not immune to buying stuff I actually did know in the first place I wouldn´t really use.
Latest one? The Ordinary Serum Foundation. I prefer my base to be matte, long lasting and at least medium coverage, none of which it claims to be.

One of the many reasons I don’t celebrate Valentine´s Day is that it is just a week after my birthday.
And, to put it nicely, I am not always easy to please. Not that I demand a lot of presents or look at the money spend on me, but I do expect a gift to be carefully chosen and to come with a story that explains why this, and only this, was the thing my better half picked up for me.
Quite frankly, I´d rather have no present than a generic one, no matter the occasion. And that paired with all my other lovely and unique quirks, to stay in positive terms, would be too much to handle twice in one month.
Now if you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that I spend my birthday coughing and sneezing and unable to appreciate anything else than a pack of tissues.
