Sephora Matte Perfection Foundation Review

You know how I keep telling you that I won´t purchase some products because I feel almost insulted by the names companies give them?

And I am not talking the tongue in cheek names here (I have a pretty high tolerance to that). No, I am talking about things like the Farsali Unicorn Essence. Unicorns? Really? I am grown up, I don’t want glitter and rainbows.

Although I admit I was seriously tempted to overlook that quite recently, because a Makeup Artist at Sephora used the Unicorn Essence on me before applying the Sephora Matte Perfection Foundation, and the foundation looked beautiful all day.

But after I purchased it (the Matte Perfection Foundation, not the Unicorn Essence, I stood true to my word there), I had a hard time getting it to look like that. In fact, it took me three weeks and a lot of different brush/primer combos to find a way to make it work, and judging by other reviews I have read online I am not the only one that struggles. Maybe the Unicorn Essence would have made my life easier? We will never know.

So don´t despair if you bought it and struggle, I´ve got you covered. At least if your skin type is oily.

Dry skins don´t need to read any further: The Sephora Matte Perfection Foundation is not for you!

Emile Cordon Miracle Lip Balm – Luxury

In times where minimalism rules and we (rightly!) ask ourselves if our current culture of consumerism is really the way we want to continue on, it can be tough to write a beauty blog. It is a constant battle between being mindful with my purchases (read about my Low Buy 2019, for example) and allowing myself little luxuries that I don’t need need, but enjoy nonetheless. Like the Emile Cordon Miracle Lip Balm I wanted to review today.

In my defense, they are more than a lip balm. They are a lip and cheek tint, which makes them a versatile makeup item, and maybe a little bit less of a luxury? No, I get it, I am not convinced either.

L Oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara – Creepy names

Advertisement info: This blog post uses affiliate links. Please read disclaimer.

So, what kind of lashes do you expect on a butterfly? I think, when naming their mascara, L Oreal had lashes like a butterflies wing in mind. But seriously, am I the only one thinking about butterfly legs, black and thin and, well, insectoid?

In case you are wondering what the heck I am talking about, the L Oréal Paris False Lash Flutter Mascara (with cocoon fibers and a butterfly brush) is called “Voluminous Butterfly Mascara” in Germany, bringing above mentioned disturbing images to my obviously twisted mind.
False lash flutter seems to be the better choice in terms of names, at least it doesn´t evoke as disturbing pictures.

And I honestly have no idea what cocoon fibers are supposed to be. If we are talking “fibers from an insects cocoon”, we are most likely talking silk, but I think, they would have called it silk then. So synthetical fibers are my guess, just with a fancy name. Ah, marketing…

But fancy names aside, let´s get on with the review of the L Oreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara. Will it give me butterfly lashes?

My top three summer lip colors

Now it is no secret that I love a good lipstick. If you have seen my collection (I am currently trying to work my way through it on Instagram @LindaLibraLoca), you’ll know that I have just about every color you could think of.
Reds will always be my favorites, but you’ll find a fair share of nudes and MLBB shades in my drawers as well that I reach for on work days.
In the summer though, when even I get a little bit tanned, I tend to go for more vibrant shades on my lips.
Lipstick paired with a pair of sunglasses to hide your tired
eyes makes you look pulled together even after two sleepless nights due to a teething baby. Obviously this works all through the year, but as I am no member of the Kardashian family, so I tend to shy away from sunglasses in the winter gloom.
