I admit I filmed a video and needed to add a separate sequence at the end a week later that partly counteracted what I had said in the video.
Not very professional, eh? But in my defense, I wanted to get a review of the new Pixi Beauty Eyeshadow Palettes up quickly, and I knew I only had one spot for filming in the next two weeks. And this spot happened to be about two hours after I received Natural Beauty and Reflex Lights in the mail.
So I opened the parcel, took pictures (first things first, we all need a pristine shot!) and then sat down to film.
And after filming, I took my time to play with Natural Beauty and Reflex Light. And had to admit that I was, indeed, wrong in my first impressions.

My love for food is well documented on this blog, but did you know that this gets triggered by food related makeup? No joking, if something is called Gelato Swirl, Honey Bronze or just Baked Whatever, I start salivating.
And yes, I am well aware that I am so not selling the Laura Geller Baked Balance-N-Brighten Color Correcting Foundation to you here, linking it to mental images of saliva and me stuffing my face.
Maybe I can make it better if I tell you that it contains White Tea Extract for added antioxidant benefits? And that tea goes perfectly with any baked goods? No?
Okay, let´s leave the food and focus on the review instead.
The first month of 2019 has passed already, and as always it was a particularly grey and gloomy one here in Germany.
We did have snow, but it only lasted briefly, despite a week of bitter cold. Chilly winds, biting frost, you get the idea. Now, it is still Southern Germany, so I may exaggerate a little, but stay with me, it will help set the mood.
And in this cold and chill (and tiny bits of snow) I took off my coat and posed for some pictures in the forest. You may have seen some of them on my Instagram already (@lindalibraloca), but I figured they’d provide viewing pleasure while I sum up the blog posts I wrote for January 2019.
It is funny that as soon as a New Year starts, new buzz words appear out of nowhere. My top three so far? Pollution, prebiotics and low-buy!
And while I won´t go into detail on pollution and prebiotics (both skincare related) as I have dedicated videos planned on those topics, I figured I would join in on Low-Buy 2019 and tell you how I plan to do it.
In all honesty, I have been on a Low-Buy for more than three years already. Ever since I went on maternity leave with my daughter and my disposable income suddenly reduced dramatically, I tried to shop my stash both for makeup and skincare.
And, shock horror, this has seen me through three years now with still having unopened products in my drawers. Which is obviously fine with most makeup, but slowly gets problematic with skincare – even unopened most items are expired by now.

Mascara reviews. I haven’t done them in a while. In fact, the last one I did was on IGTV (Anyone remember that platform? It seems only brands upload teasers of their new releases there anymore.)
Kind of strange, when you think of it, as mascara is the makeup item I use every day and is the one that I replace most frequently. I might not be worried too much about expiration dates in my other face paint, but as a contact lens wearer mascara that has been open too long makes me uneasy – ain´t nobody got time for an eye infection!
If I am honest, the only reason is that I find mascara pictures incredibly hard to take. No matter how long I try, study the angles and admire the pristine pictures on other blogs, my attempts turn out dark, blurry or odd. Time to get practicing, I guess, so I can share more mascara reviews with you in the time to come!
And just like that, another month has passed, and with this, 2018 comes to an end. Did it drag on? Did it fly by? I have heard both.
But I am not here today to reflect on the year that passed, no. I want to talk about the month that ends today, my hectic and sugar filled December.
Although maybe hectic isn´t the right word (sugar filled is, no denying that). Maybe eventful is more fitting, given that I thoroughly enjoyed every event I attended, Christmas related or not. I visited a Christmas Market at our local zoo with the kids, which was magical (despite me getting Whamed on December 2nd!), met up with people I hadn´t seen for almost a decade and went on my first LARP in six years.
I wouldn´t mind going on like that, maybe cut back a little on the sugar (New Years Resolutions and such), but putting an emphasis on the people in my life that make me happy.

My first ever video was an Empties one. It was shortly after Christmas, I was seven months pregnant and lighting, sound and setup were awful.
It is still live though, and I am happy I decided back then, after much uhm-ing and ah-ing, that I wanted to film. Empty containers are better shown than photographed, at least in my opinion, and having a written text on 24 different products would probably prove cumbersome to read.
I am not sure now if it is any less cumbersome to listen to me talk about the 24 empty products, but I´ll just continue blabbing on. Seeing that I managed to keep the video under ten minutes I am positive it won’t be too bad.

I love a glamorous makeup look as much as the next beauty blogger, but even if I´d say I am wearing quite a lot of makeup compared to other women around me, I can´t help but feel a little intimidated by the Full Glam Holiday Makeup Tutorials I have seen recently.
Glitter, red lips, I am down for that (in fact I want to be buried with my favorite red lipstick, just in case you actually CAN take things with you to the other side). But the full Instagram Glam with the cut crease and strong contour? I wouldn´t feel myself when wearing that.
And as I am very comfortable with feeling myself, I figured I would do my own version of a Holiday Makeup Tutorial, using contour, shimmer, false lashes and red lipstick… But in a way that still feels like myself.
Wearable Holiday Glam Makeup? Mature Holiday Glam Makeup? Boring Holiday Makeup? Whatever you want to call it, here is the tutorial!

November is done and dusted, and tomorrow will be the day I get the boxes with Christmas decoration from the basement and start randomly putting them on available surface spots.
Not kidding here, I am a lost cause when it comes to decorating, no matter how much Inspiration Boards I have on Pinterest.
But I am making an effort, for the kids mostly, as I want them to embrace the spirit of the season.
While we get all festive here, why not take the time and browse through my most recent blogposts, just in case you missed some? And if you did, consider subscribing to my Newsletter here, which I will actually send out once more than me and my mother are subscribed.
I know that having an actual mailing list is uber important for blogs, but given that we share a house I don´t think my mother needs my updates electronically.
