The Travel Photo Tag – my trip down memory lane

When the originally planned content didn’t happen for today, I turned to Twitter to ask whether I should do an impromptu video or just reschedule already written content. No one answered, so I had to decide myself. A few weeks ago the lovely Melissa from Kiss & Makeup Beauty Blog shared “The Travel Photo Tag” on YouTube and as I had been meaning to take part anyway, I settled for a chatty trip down memory lane. The Baltic Sea in winter – just breathe and relax!

Most people think of summer when they think about booking a seaside holiday. The beach, cocktails, swimming in the sea while soaking up the sun sounds like a match made in heaven. And it is, I don’t disagree. But there is another perfect time to book a little seaside getaway, and that time is… November. Of course, swimming isn’t up there on the list of November activities, but there are a lot of advantages when you travel throughout the colder months.

Hidden Gems 2 – The Wholemeal Café in Takaka, NZ

If you are unfamiliar with the “Hidden Gems”, here is a little introduction. But basically I share places I discovered while traveling that aren’t easily discovered, but worth looking out for. The Wholemeal Café in Takaka (Picture Source) When we were traveling New Zealands South earlier this year (already feels like a lifetime ago…), we usually went for a mid-day break from driving to explore and give Little Bean some distraction. More often than not we paired it with a bite to eat in one of the many cafés out…

How much is too much? – Staying in Singapore

If you travel from Europe to New Zealand, you will have to do a stop over somewhere. In our case, this stop over was in Singapore. To soften the blow of returning to everyday life after two magical months traveling, we decided to stay for a few nights on our way back, to slowly ease into going home. And if you have spend so much time in a camper van, you are in for a little treat. At least this is what we figured when we decided to go all…

Mountains and sheep – New Zealands North

Following along with the route we took, it is time to cross the ocean and start exploring New Zealands Northern Island. Just in case you missed them, I did two posts on the Southern Island before (Part 1 here, Part 2 here). The white tree in Russell. Do you too see people in there? But before we start, let me tell you in advance: We were doing it all wrong. When visiting New Zealand, start up north and slowly travel south. Why? Because even though both parts are beautiful, the…

Hidden Gems – Cup & Cake in Queenstown

Advertisement info: No affiliate links and no gifted items. I paid for everything I consumed myself. Don’t you just love it when you discover a new spot simply by accident? When all you do is aimlessly roam the streets, looking for a bite to eat, no fancy guide leading your steps? When you decide to go down this small street, peek into the patio, climb these stairs and there it is? A place full of warmth, laughter and delicious food? This is what happened when we got caught in a…

Mountains and sheep part 2 – Exploring New Zealands South

I case you missed Part 1 of my travel diary, click here to indulge in pictures of breathtaking landscape and to mentally prepare for more to come. Mt Cook Last time I left you at Milford Sound, the place where the sea meets the mountains and tourists take the bus by the dozen to go for a quick boat ride among the sight of waterfalls gushing into the ocean. To stay with the touristic theme, our journey took us further up north to… HydroShark Queenstown (Photo Credit) 1. Queenstown This…

Mountains and sheep – Exploring New Zealands South Part I

It was about time that I tackled the “Backpacking” part of my blogs header, don’t you think? And what better way to do that than to share with you this years biggest adventure: Our trip to New Zealand! Our first sheep, met in Christchurch. Expect lots of pictures and a sudden urge of Wanderlust! Beautiful landscapes wherever you look 1. Christchurch Before the big earthquakes in 2010/2011, Christchurch was known as the “most British town of New Zealand”. After the destruction of the historical city centre, it now is a…

When Daddy becomes a pack donkey – Deuter Kid Comfort III

Traveling with a child gives you a whole new perspective. You don’t look for a Michelin Star in a restaurant, but for an available high chair. You spend way more time sitting in the sand box than at the bar of some fancy club. You get overly excited about ducks on the camping ground, funny noises included (“Look darling, over there, quack quack quack quack”) And you get a whole new perspective on distance. What used to be an easy days hike seems to stretch out forever when you have…

Whats in my travel skincare bag?

If you are a regular reader of Linda.Libra.Loca, you will know about two things: My slight obsession with skincare and my seven weeks road trip to New Zealand. Maybe you have already asked yourself how these two are going to work out, and if I am actually dragging four creams, three toners, two cleansers, a diversity of face masks and other stuff around the globe. Yes, I will add toothbrush and deodorant before I actually leave. The answer is: No. Thanks to travel sizes, samples and nights of pondering, I…
