While I was trying to write this introduction, I got sucked in to the black hole that is “The Ordinary Drama” time lines. As much as I claim I don´t care for drama online (and believe me, I don´t) it seems like once you start reading, you simply can´t stop.
So much has happened since I shared my initial thoughts here, and it leaves me incredibly confused.
So how do I proceed? I guess I will continue with what I do best and focus on the product at hand, the The Ordinary Coverage foundation and no longer think about the time wasted following link after link in an attempt to make sense to what ultimately may not have one.
From the snowy mountains right to Las Fallas, the spring festival of Valencia and the Valencia area.
Sounds glamorous? Oh yes!
If only I hadn’t caught my sons stomach bug and spend one of the two days we had in the beautiful city hugging the hotel room toilet. TMI? Sorry!
Oh well, kids stay with you even if you leave them at home with the grandparents, I guess.
It was a blast nonetheless, and I managed to capture quite a bit of the festivities on camera. Some of the footage is there thanks to Mr. Loca though, who, in best You Tube husband tradition, ventured out when I couldn’t to capture some images.
And probably to escape the sounds that were emerging from the bathroom, trust me, it wasn’t pretty!
I really have no explanation why it always takes me so long book an appointment to get my hair done.
I mean, the experience is nothing but pleasant! Even if you leave the whole “New hair, beautiful me” – thing aside, what is not to love?
Sitting in a chair with some tea and a book for more than two hours without getting up to a) wipe up spilled milk or b) wipe a bottom or c) wipe away tears due to spilled milk or wiping a bottom is an occasion so rare, I almost forget that a long time ago every weekend was supposed to be like this.
I vow not to let 13 months pass before I venture in the world of bleach and blow drys again!
Do birthdays in your family also come in multiples?
We have seven to celebrate from February 7th to March 12th, then months with only a few sprinkled in, and then again four within three weeks time starting October.
Needless to say that birthdays and party planning are keeping me occupied right now. Mine has come and gone, with no celebration due to the fact that I was a) sick and b) turning 39, which didn’t feel like a huge milestone.
Next up is my daughters, she will be four tomorrow. Seriously, I cannot believe how time flies, it feels like yesterday when she was born. Heck, it feels like yesterday when I was crying on my living room floor because my then ob-gyn had told me I was most likely never going to get pregnant.

I know I go on and on about how I am not into hearts and glitter and unicorns. I don´t even really like the color pink.
But sometimes something comes along that you technically shouldn´t enjoy based on experience, but still you do.
That happened to me when this gorgeous pixi box arrived at my door step. And no, I didn´t just enjoy it because I got send it for free! Not going to lie, that surely helps, but despite the pink and the pastel and the roses… It is so pretty!
Maybe it is the tiny (fully functional!) lock with the even tinier key, maybe it is the words written inside about skincare and inner beauty, I don´t know.
But I just can´t seem to throw it out. Enough about the box though, you are certainly here to hear about what was inside?
I have stated it numerous times before: I do not make resolutions, goals or whatever you will call them on New Years Eve.
In fact I don’t make resolutions. Ever. And I don’t actively decide on goals.
I am a Type A personality. Goals are my living, breathing existence.
Which confused Mr. Loca when he recently asked for my blogging strategy and got “Well, I don’t know… I guess it is just fun.” as an answer. After a moment of disbelief he started to laugh at me and, (quite rightly) said: “You never do things just for fun.”

But short story even shorter, each month I choose a seasonal ad and try to recreate the models look with colors I already own.
Dressing up and awkward posing included!
I really wanted to get started on holiday makeup, mainly because every year I toy with the idea to throw a sophisticated Christmas party for friends and coworkers.
The idea inevitably gets buried with others like “Bake ten different kinds of cookies” and “Have all my shopping ready the week before Christmas the latest.” But should by some miraculous event I happen to host a party this year (or attend a party…) I wanted to be prepared in terms of makeup.
One look standing out to me when scrolling through the new releases was the Dior Precious Rocks Holiday 2017 collection. Red, bold eyeshadow, flawless skin, everything oh so glamorous. A look that will make you the center of attention for sure.
It was actually easier to recreate than I would have thought it´d be, so here we go: My version of the Dior Precious Rocks Holiday 2017 collection.
They say anticipation is sometimes better than the actual event.
I find that to be especially true regarding anything weather dependent. How many times have you looked forward to summer barbecues outside and ended up inside because of hail and storm? How many times have you dreamt about snow ball fights in a winter wonderland only to shuffle through muddy pools in constant rain?
I know I have been disappointed numerous times, so when Flanconi (an online beauty store) reached out to me and asked for an Indian summer look, I decided to take matters into my own hands. It may be wet and cold outside, but here on the blog we´ll have all the gold and orange we long for.
And what can I say, after I finished filming the sun decided to make an appearance and I was able to actually shoot outdoors! I am not going to jinx it, but if we get a prolonged period of beautiful weather here in Germany now, I will claim magical makeup skills.
If not, this Indian Summer look will see me through the disappointment.
Sometimes a tiny shift in plans can bring up unwanted comedy.
You see, when I planned my content for September, which was long before my summer holiday started mid-august, the last prerecorded video was an Empties one (here in case you missed it). And to go with the video, I wrote a whole post on how little I was buying, how sensible and mindful I was with my shopping, yada yada yada.
Originally I had planned to upload a holiday vlog next, but then I last minute decided to post my vlogs on Wednesdays (here and here if you missed them) and instead film a fashion haul.
To go with the fashion filmed I wanted to share my skincare and makeup shopping on the blog and it turns out it was quite a bit. Which is a little ironic, reading me bang on about how little I buy on Monday and then see the gigantic amount of skincare I shopped just a week later.
But such is life, so please smile, forgive me and keep on reading for my skincare haul summer 2017.
